"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Easter used to mean hiding eggs from Emmett. Now it means we're going to see the Greeks. So we'll borrow Emmett from his mom today, go have an early Easter dinner with the MiL and then swing by to see the Greek cousins, two of whom Emmett is fond of.

Matilda has inherited her mother's fondness for baby toes, and conveniently Matilda comes equipped with them at the end of her own feet. She's been munching on them all week. If I could get her a basket of chocolate feet I would. When I was taking a bath with her the other day she spotted my big toe and her eyes went wide like a hunter spotting a sixteen point buck.

Our wings are not tired.

Baby toes!!

I made pretty eggs and baskets for the boys. They don't believe me anymore about the Easter bunny, but they have figured out that I won't give. In Laura's house the Easter bunny still chews the carrot left for him.

We adult types are drinking mimosas. Yummy.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Chocolate sounds good. I have no chocolate.

I'm off to the grocery store soon. Maybe they'll have some chocolate macaroons, or something.

Happy Easter to those who celebrate! I made my husband a hot cross matzoh.

Yesterday my sister and her family came up and we all went to the Sabres game -- they beat the Caps 2-0, and there were just as many Buffalo fans there as Washington fans. It was a blast.

Hot cross matzoh sounds good. I need to take the boys to a hockey game. They have no respect for the sport, but I think they might see the awesome if they see it in person. I don't think tv does the game justice.

Yesterday's was a somewhat lopsided game. The Sabres were dancing around the Caps, making sure to stay healthy for the playoffs and their Stanley Cup run while the Caps had nothing to lose because they won't be back 'til August. Anyway, your sons need to see a playoff game in person, where they go all out.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Tons of ~ma to Grace and Noah and your own self, Kat (my work-brain is going, "Hmmm, an ASD? VSD? PDA? Who's the surgeon? Is it someone my boss would approve of? MUST MAKE EVERYTHING PERFECT for babies and mamas" but of course the only thing I can actually offer is the tons of ~ma).

My mom is all unhappy that we're not planning on spending the entire evening with her. I can already feel that it's going to be an afternoon of delicate emotional maneuvering. Bleh. I'll have to fortify myself by listening to our TAL CD with David Sedaris talking about French Easter with the two morsels of wood and the flying bell from Rome. That'll make things better, or anyhow more absurd.
