I don't know that the Bayistas have either a Captain Sanity or a Cat Herder in the tugboat. We have multiple ringleaders, though. ("Wait, I get it, that's a metaphor!")
HEY! I've been known to both herd cats and be sane! Maybe not often, or at the same time or anything, but I have!
LAistas don't have a tugboat.
I think we have an inflatable life-raft. With duct tape on it.
Or possibly just a couple of arm floaties.

As have I, but I know damn well no one will be calling me "sane" at any point. And you're usually too busy being a stoner to do either.
brenda m, thanks! Now I have a group to join and everything!
How amused am I that our most common group book is
Bubblegum Music?

My friends support me at Amazon dot com.
I can't get to any of the Java games on Popcap, so instead I'm playing Minesweeper. I feel so retro!
I can easily play Minesweeper for sixteen straight hours. Which is why I don't ever let myself start.
Bejeweled is my timesucker online game. That, and the Hoyle Board Games CD, with Parcheesi, Battleship, Yahtzee, and Mah Jong on it.
I'm spending my afternoon googling library salary ranges, trying to get an idea for what field I want to go into after I get my masters. It looks like $40K is do-able straight out of library school, regardless of what my library friends told me (that's the national average for 2005 MLIS graduates), but would involve me taking some computer/tech classes (not a bad idea, anyway) to get the higher-paying gigs.
I should be hearing back from UIUC in a week or two.
