Ok, so maybe I'll be doing the cooking on Sunday, because if I remember correctly, just about everything shutters on easter (despite that I live in the jewish part of town. ) Which I forgot about until now.

Oh, right. I probably should put a sticky note on the door to remind me not to attempt clothes shopping on Sunday.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I am not a good Christian this season, because my big joy about Easter is that I can get off of my Lent restrictions. Self-imposed, mind you, but man my head was not in the right space this Lent. I just complained the whole time. Anyway, since the SO is going to be gone next week, I am totally walking down the street to the new Grumpy Jake's BBQ place. With a name like that (and their sign is just a pink board with a cutout of a pig), they've gotta be great, right?

What else?

Oh, Morning After Hair Report! Still loving it. I woke up fuzzy headed and went to scratch the back of my neck and was all, hey, haircut! Washed and styled it this morning. I was a little concerned because the stylist did so much work with it that I wasn't sure I'd be able to replicate it. But it's such a good cut it ended up being really simple.

I decided to see if I could do it without dryer & flatiron. So I just used the product & applied it just to the roots in the back like she showed me, to get body and shape there without too much effort. Then I pieced out the bits that frame my face and worked with those. Had a little bit of trouble figuring out where the part should be (it's on the other side of my face now) and with getting some of the pieces to be swoopy-inny instead of flippy-outy.

The product is really odd. It's evidently made primarily out of asparagus. I dunno. But it's this funky gel/waxy texture when you scoop it out of the jar, and you have to work it with your fingers to get it warm and pliable. Which I didn't believe at first, it was just sticky, but then all of a sudden it changed textures and was slippery and smooth. It works nicely with my hair. Usually my hair is so stubborn that any product strong enough to hold it looks stiff and unnatural or shows residue. But this is nice and light, but still holds well. I need to work out the right amounts, but I like it so far.

Anyway, I spent a lot of time this morning messing with it, but normal process should just be wash, towel dry, brush, apply product & shape.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Liese, what's the name of the product? I am always looking for texturizer.

I hope more than just me & Jesse watched 30 ROck last night with Will Arnett. It was pretty nonstop hysterical.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

It is Sudzz FX Marmalade Jazz Pomade Gel. Its first ingredients listed are asparagus, cucumber, parsley and sandalwood. Then it gets into the normal hair stuff. It's not animal tested. It cost me $16 at the salon for a 2 oz. jar. Oh, and it has a mild vaguely citrusy smell.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Put me on the list of wanting to know the name of the product, liese!

eta x post. Hmmm... potentially too heavy for my hair.

Okay, Legally Blonde still makes me laugh.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

We don't have one of those in the LAista tugboat.

I didn't even know we had a tugboat.

Gronklies. I, too, had a shit night of sleep. Mine involved vivid and horrific nightmares. Whee? Also, it's my last "real" day of Spring Break. Work again Monday. Can't complain given this nice break, but I'm so not ready.
