Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OK, I just realized why the 30 Rock "Salute to Fireworks" is weirding me out (besides the obvious): a place I used to work had two main fundraising events: Salute to Achievement, and a fireworks thing.

shrift, the hair is lovely. between you and liese, I am close to being inspired to cut my hair!

I still need to make an appt to get a haircut. It's long. Still quite passable, curled under or flipped up, but... (it's a whole 2 inches long at the shortest!) it usually is a 2 week wait for my stylist, and I usually reach the "awfuckIhateit" stage one week earlier than I can get a cut. Or rather, when I finally bother to make an appt.

sara has great hair! I don't have the energy for maintaining a cut that cute though.

(FYI, sara, I tried to return your call)

Woo hoo!! I got the dress for my sister's wedding!! Ended up going over my upper limit by $11, but it's still within the ballpark of what I was going to spend anyway.

shrift, you make me want to steal your hair.

Which I very well might, as I was getting a cut tomorrow...

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Kathy, that's SO pretty! I love the back of it, all sheer and flowery. And the neckline is to die for. Are you excited that you got it?

Totally!! It's just what I wanted: v-neck (I don't have much boobage, but my breast bone makes me look terrific in a v neck--my mom and sister both envy my sternum!), mid-calf length, and it has sleeves but still manages to look dressy, instead of like a work dress, which is what all the other ones with sleeves looked like. Cool thing is that the lace top is all lined with a nude fabric, so I can wear my usual bra and still look like I'm wearing spaghetti straps under the lace.

Now to find a strappy shoe with not much heel (my knees don't like heels).
