Steph, freak out. I say that because I know I can't not. Of course, the key then become freaking out without being self-destructive. It helps to have someone's hand to hold, I guess. The room to be scared and worried without consigning yourself to permanent paralysis--that's the middle ground.

I am ALL about getting to know people without having a picture. I'd say your first two sentences are pretty on the money. Tell her stuff about you, ask her stuff about her. Forget the marriage for a second and just socialise in text.

How are you "checking her out", P-C? Online? Because you talk to people online all the time, you totally know how to do that. Don't worry about the whole marriage thing, just chat, maybe you will like each other, maybe you won't, just like anyone you'd meet.
