Mostly lurking...

Yeah, it hasn't been bad here at all. Actually, I just left the windows open overnight last night for the first time. It just really shot up today. And it's supposed to get cool again over the weekend and be back in the 70s for next week. I hate to put my window units in when I could just do windows again next week.

I did check, though, and see if any of the guys in my building were home a little while ago to see if they'd mind helping me put the AC units in. They're not, which to me means I need to wait. Plus, my landlord (who pays my electricity) would be cranky if I started using them this early. We're really not supposed to put them in until June.

I'm half tempted, though, to get a note from my doctor telling him that I cannot deal with heat, due to my medication, and I had to put them in early. Then, on Sunday I could have dad help me put them in. But, then again, it's gonna be cooler again next week, so...

I am so boggled by the "too much humor" complaint that I don't really know how to respond. Especially since the complainers are going to bosses rather than just, say, hitting "Reply" with their concerns, how hard is that?

I got in trouble for saying "I hope our phone technicians will be able to fix" etc., because management interpreted that as a statement of uncertainty and no confidence, whereas I meant it as "I hope we can meet again" type of polite language. It's amazing how people can look for opportunities to misinterpret.
