Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Gotta catch a plane in the morning.

Yeah, I know. It's very exciting!

I need a clone.

Still working on that laundry?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I just heard the dryer wind down. All done now.

Except that pesky packing. And getting the cats ready for the cattery and staying home alone, respectively. And ... ZOMG tired.

Well, I just almost went to bed without putting my groceries away. SO glad I had left the light on in the kitchen so I'd see all the stuff on the floor before hitting the sack. It would have been very bad to wake up to $90-worth of spoiled groceries!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Brief report of the day:

Interview with juliana, yay! Also, interview with a good friend, weird! But, dang, I love her workplace and her description of the environment -- fast-paced and crazy challenging and supportive all at once. So different from where I now work. I have really no chance of getting the job, since internal candidates get big huge preference, but at least now I know the environment and the vibe I want to be looking for.

After the interview, I went home to collect Matilda, pump, and meet libkitty at the Ferry Building. I was a few minutes late due to having to run up to the office for a couple of minutes (en route I passed a shuttle bus going the other direction, and in one window was off-and-on Buffista Bridget grinning and waving like mad, which random encounter still makes me smile to think of it).

libkitty was very forgiving (and her gorgeous expressive eyes and cool glasses are just as striking as I remembered from her last visit here), and we had a lovely stroll around the Ferry Building and tasty lunch at Mijita. Matilda was super-ridiculously charming (though very destructive of a half-dozen large napkins), so much so that a random guy walking past us as we strolled through the Ferry Building insisted on giving us some very expensive chocolate as a gift just because she was so cute.

There was also coffee, bouncing, dandling, conversation about churches and libraries and online communities and Allyson's book, some incredibly ripped, shirtless and pretty 20-something boys doing fancy tricks with customized dirtbikes at Justin Herman Plaza, and a great deal of San Francisco just showing off and preening itself before its admirers.

Also, because libkitty is made of sweet, everything was her treat.

Matilda is now fresh out of the bath and somewhat gripey but starting to settle down -- and it turns out that sj's pirate onesie now fits (well, is maybe just a smidge large, but barely enough to notice) so she's all swaddled up in it right this minute. And now I'm off to feed her.

Mwah to all!

tea:

Leftovers have been eaten along with too many See's candies that thessaly and Victor brought us back from the Chicago trip, many glasses of wine have been drunk, and we have two apartment appointments tomorrow. Definitely time for bed.

JZ wins at Friday.

I am packed, mostly. And ... well, I'm mostly packed.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Matilda was not gripey but went into full on swivet after tub.

But the sj onesie fit and looked cute.

JZ and babe are down for the night.

Emmett and I follow soon.

Early game tomorrow.

move out and draw fire

I need patented Bitch~ma.

I'm in DC (or, actually, VA), with all my luggage and a very sleepy 2yo, and the housing company forgot to leave the key under the mat. So Mal and I are camped out on the porch. He's got something of a bed in my big suitcase, and fortunately it's a mild night (oh, yeah, it's 1:00 am).

Also fortunately, someone here didn't lock down their network, so I'm grabbing some bandwidth to skype the corporate housing people.

So ~ma for a person to arrive with a key very soon, please.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Raq, do you need a place to stay for tonight? We've got extra beds available.

I can come and get you if necessary.
