Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Ha! I totally just let my southern white girl show! Two of my coworkers came in my office to see if we got Labor Day off. Since our org is fairly liberal, I told them I was pretty sure we did. So then they're asking if we're off Monday then. "Erm. No, why?" "Because it's Labor Day!" they say. To which my only reply is, "Why would you stop wearing white shoes at the end of April?!?!" Got nothing but blank stares.

In case you're wondering about the date confusion, it's Mexican Labor Day on Monday, apparently, and favorite coworker was looking at a Spanish language calendar.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Teppy, his issues have issues. Do not feed the energy creature.

This. I wouldn't even respond. Anything you say is going to feed the energy creature. He's not understanding what you are trying to say, and I don't think anything you say in the future will change that.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

A little car-ma (hee) please - Service guy is calling me back with an estimate to get it cross country worthy. Things like transmission pan leak, gaskets, intake seals, and burnt transmission fluid were said.

Yipes.

But the tires, brakes, hoses, and belts all look good!

Please don't be a million dollars. Please be under $500.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'd be most concerned about the burned transmission fluid. Was the fluid too low for a while? or did something else cause the burning? Does the transmission currently shift OK? Do you have to drive through the mountains?

Automatic transmissions baffle me. (I just have a basic understanding of their opperation.) I think I'll get a book and learn how they work.

Yeah - seems to work fine.

Do you have to drive through the mountains?

I'd imagine so. There are mountains in Utah, right?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hey Jilli, here's a Wikipedia list of Steampunk works in all media. Might find something in there you want to consume.
