Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Y'know, when Hec and I were out walking on Friday

I just love that this is a sentence Daisy can say.

The video of Matilda munching her toes is ridonkulous cute.

Fay! Have you seen examples of your tattoo artist's work? Is she genius enough to render a peacock feather? Are you sure you want to start with something so big?

I have concerns.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I just love that this is a sentence Daisy can say.

Me too! I keep promising my friends here I'll quit talking about my trip, and then I'm all, "Oooh. When I was in San Francisco last weekend..."

My vacation likes carrots.

The names he gave me at the BGSU library were legit.

I used to work there! Worlds collide!

Ok - suggestions on where to find wood pallates?

What everyone said. Also places like Wal-Mart or Target. Anyplace that will get in big orders of stuff will probably have them. And most, I think, just get rid of them.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I used to work there! Worlds collide!

Plus, guy is an ultra-liberal from Berkeley. Who can't trust that?

Hmm... I probably know her face. I worked in Music and Sound, one floor down from Pop Culture. Second largest audio collection in the country, only to the Library of Congress. (And that was what was cataloged... oh, the stuff that wasn't cataloged. You could get lost in that place for days.) And all stuck in the equivalent of Bumfuck, Ohio.

Man, I miss that place.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

The house people still have not returned phone calls to the real estate guy, so we're going back to get our deposit tonight. Back to square one.

Sob, my knee is still hurting enough that I'm doubting going to the A's game tonight.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

oy, Suzi. I'm sorry about your knee. Knee pain is the worst.

Also, sj, I'm sorry about the continuing annoyances of trying to find a decent place to live.

I am so irritated right now. I just was involved in a situation where the person was just total Bureaucrat Type A and clung to The Process despite, uh, logic and reality. I just want to shove glass in my eye when I have to deal with that shit. Sadly, it happens here all the freaking time.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

{{Suzi}} you are icing and medicating, I hope.

Very angry on your behalf, sj. I don't care if you weren't supposed to be there (as far as they knew), how hard is it to knock, just in case? That's what civilized people do.

one of the deadliest weapons in West Baltimore can be purchased for $80 at Home Depot.

I don't know, you might need the $700 one. The Cadillac of nailguns [he meant Lexu but he don't know that].

Sorry about the adhering to the process blindness, Nora. That can be crazy making.
