Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

It is already at 86 right now. This is, I'm pretty sure, illegal like WHOA. I just want to cry.

WTF? Is the AC busted (or not on yet) or is this how it's going to be all summer?

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

The plants should stop having sex. Otherwise, the human race will never continue to propagate itself because it will be too busy TRYING TO BREATHE instead of having the sex. Allergy~ma to the sufferers.

Oof, Cash, I hope Owen feels better soon, and I doubly hope that Olivia and the rest of you don't come down with it too. Stomach viruses are the worst.

YAY for SuziQ in DC!

I get cranky when it's too hot, and my skin goes ballistic. Nora, I feel your pain.

I didn't want to turn on the A/C this early, but we've had temps in the mid-80s yesterday and today. It was necessary for sleep to occur. It will be off by the end of the week when the weather starts behaving in a more April-like manner, and we'll be able to get by with open windows.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

it isn't on yet and apparantly it takes a team of 20 about 8 days to turn it on because we are in academia and no one does anything in a timely manner ever.

(the team of 20 in 8 days was my sarcastic guess-timate)

It's just so damn foul in here. This apparantly happened last summer before I got here as well.

Hell, my furnace is still on and there's new snow in the mountains. Plus there's rampant plant sex.

It's to "lessen my inconvenience." I wonder if I could call them and tell them to just close it down now. I can figure out something till the other one comes...go get cash from the bank directly or something. It would be far more inconvenient for all of my money to disappear!

oh, Nora, I so feel your pain. Being too hot (unless I'm doing the hot yoga and have chosen to be hot) makes me SUPER SUPER cranky. Raving bitch cranky. And everyone around me knows it.

My old office was like that every summer. for years. The AC in that building was just totally fucked and the management company kept saying they'd fixed it and they didn't. Last year we FINALLY got some freestanding AC units.

We've moved to a new building that seems to have a decent heating/cooling system. Unfortunately it is managed by the same asshole company.

Hope this is just a momentary, between season blip and the temp evens out to something pleasant for you very soon.

To be fair, I don't know if the problem is on the owners side or the real estate agents part. He's kind of forgetful, so he may not have let me know what the owners have said.

Ok. I'm on the phone with the bank right now, and they'll close it out today. It'll be kind of a pain till the new one gets here, but I think this is the best option at this time.
