Wow, Plei, I love that hair color. It really suits you.
It was a fun weekend here - trip to the rainforest, trip to the beach, trip for ice cream, visiting toddler playing in the pool...until Ellie fell on our bedroom floor (marble) and gave herself a huge goose egg on her forehead. She cried and cried and cried. It's under her hair but it's a dark gray/purple color. She kept waking up every few hours last night, saying owie while rubbing her head, and then wanting to nurse. Poor bean.
Oh, poor Ellie.
Chris had a perma-bump for about six months. Every 2-3 weeks he'd whack the same spot on his forehead -- it started to look like Angel's after he vamped out.
Beej, hold on to that Featherweight tightly. I have my mother's old Featherweight, and whenever we've taken it in to be adjusted/fixed (not very often) the repair place has tried to buy it/lose it/hoped we'd forget about it if they kept telling us it wasn't ready, depending on how reputable the shop.
Poor Ellie and her noggin!
Plei, that is a wonderful color on you and a wonderful serious face on Lillian.
PC, all the best to your grandfather. I come from a family that speaks only plain-talk about illnesses and we all keep Merck Manuals, so I don't understand when folks can't talk about/name the disease. Possibly I've read too many books where the name of something holds special power, or strips the thing of its special powers, also, so I call a carcinoma a carcinoma.
Dear Lurkers,
I know you're trying desperately to support me in e-mail, but Gmail just isn't playing nice, right now. Don't worry. I can feel it, just the same.
Love,
Cindy
Gmail seems to be working for me, Cindy -- or if it isn't, I can't tell.
Stupid, stupid, stupid: [link]
I can't understand why the school hasn't given this person his/her walking papers.

Well, I also think it was because she doesn't want my grandfather to worry/know until we find out the full details.
I still haven't heard about our offer on the house for rent. I was so down yesterday afternoon that TCG dragged me out of the house to take a nice drive through the nearby towns I hadn't seen. They were very pretty, and we ended up stopping in a little shop and he bought me lavender chocolate and some clotted cream. It was a really nice afternoon, especially with the beautiful weather.

I'm hoping that the landlord/lady was also out enjoying the beautiful weather over the weekend and will get back to you with good news now that the work week has begun. ::crosses fingers::

This is part of what doesn't compute in my brain -- it would never happen in my family since we all question the doctors about what they're up to and want to see the reports and the pictures of our gooey insides. Also, don't the doctors have an ethical obligation to tell him his diagnosis so he can make his own decisions about care?
He's not very fluent in English.
Beej, I would call a sewing machine shop and see if they can help you track something down. They may have resources that we don't.
Thanks vw. I think that is the way I will have to go. I found a plastic case at allbrands but I want to see one in the flesh before I commit to anything.
And I'm with ya Sparky. This featherweight will be my end of days sewing machine. I've given up two others in this lifetime. The current one is a keeper.
