My big weekend plans include writing three final semester project prospectuses (is that a word?) and 4 short (3-5 pages) papers and finishing a 12-source annotated bibliography.
Shoot. Me. Now.
(Oh! And I didn't include all of the reading and reading notes I have to do, or the "class" I have to take to prepare my IRB application, and then the preparation of the IRB application. W00T!)
I think my grade whore just left the building.
Wow, vw. Wow. How far are you in the bibliography?
You can totally do all that, vw!
I've made a few calls about apartments today, but nothing has turned up any prospects yet today. I'm about to make a very stinky meal of pasta with garlic, anchovy, and clams just in time for the prospective buyers to show up.
I'm still in my pajamas. I should have gone into the office today to work on some grading. Guess I'll end up working on that over the weekend.
Hey, I need some of the patented buffista draft~ma. I'm so angry about this that I can't be rational and polite. How do you say -- "this is your department's job, your people didn't do it. Stop trying to make me do it and get the shit done.", with a side of "yes, I COULD do it, but it would take a lot of my time, and it's not my fucking job"
Vortex, I feel for you. I got stuff like that at my old job ALL the time. This is what I'd usually respond with:
I would love to help you out with your [part of the] project, but I'm currently swamped with my regular duties. If you could wait until [some ungodly time in the far future], I might be able to fit it into my schedule, but I can't guarantee it because my regular duties may prevent me from getting to your work. So sorry, TA! blah-cakes.
Hello? is this thing on? Am I the only one who does draft suggestions? I SAID

cause if no one helps me, I might just send that without the profanity
Sorry, Vortex. I wish I had some ideas to nice that up, but I'm all out.
How far are you in the bibliography?
Well, all of the reading is done. I plugged through that on Tuesday. I've only actually written one annotation. They don't have to be as detailed as yours, though. Just 3-4 sentences for each source. I'm gonna try to plug through that and the IRB stuff yet tonight.
Vortex, I missed that. I'm sorry. I like ChiKat's.

It does get right to the point! I'd keep it very short and sweet.
This job is X Person/Department's responsibility.
And sign off! Or maybe could you refer them to your supervisor?
