I have skimmed. I have no meara cause I have no brain.
This afternnon started out with a haircut and ended with a rush trip to my mom's doctor's office. Her nurse rocks for staying late and saving us from a trip to ER and possible hospitalization. Seems mom has peritonitis - a fairly common thing I now learn for dialysis patients on PD. She was in a ton of pain, which they were able to treat and get her started on anti-biotics.
We are now home. I'm exhausted. She is exhausted and still not entirely out of pain. And I leave town tomorrow night for 2 days. Blarg.
Health~ma for mom would be quite appreciated.
All my health~ma are belong to you.
All kinds of health~ma for your mom, Suzi. And big hugs for you.
Man, I have to go to bed. I don't know why it's so hard tonight.
Tons of get-well~ma for you mom, Suz.
And some added try-not-to-stress-too-much~ma for you, sweets.
Man, I have to go to bed. I don't know why it's so hard tonight.
Me too. Both counts.
And some added try-not-to-stress-too-much~ma for you, sweets.
It is like you know me.
But without stress, I would fall apart. Stress is my duct-tape.
Congrats on the job, juliana! Although I haven't met you in person, it sounds great for you.
Happy Birthday, ND, albeit on the late side. I hope you had a great day!
Health ~ma to your mom, Suzi, as well as to all who need it. There seem to be a lot of ill Bitches right now. That's not good.
I have fallen head over heels in love with
Drive.
I know, that last bit should be in Minearverse, but I just had to share the love more widely.
edited very late because I'm an idiot with tags
I'm not exactly an advocate of child-led education. I know where my kids would lead me if they could.
Ha!
Interesting discussion, as we've been talking seriously about home-schooling or unschooling. Especially since schools appear to be quite dangerous places...
I tend to be opposed to home or unschooling, because I think the socializing aspects of school, while not always pleasant, are valuable; because I never bought what Rousseau was selling anyway, and you absolutely cannot have a purely savage upbringing in the first world; because I don't plan on not teaching my son, I just plan on supporting and complementing what the school teaches; and because if I were to homeschool him, I would get paid even less than a teacher, which is a pretty amazing feat.
Get well wishes for all you sick Bitches!
Congrats, juliana!
Cheerios:
Happy Birthday, beth!
and *flail*!!! I just found out I'm probably leaving post NEXT WEEK. Aieee....
happy birthday beth!
Kids are different. They learn in their own ways. I could have home schooled, but I chose sanity instead. At this point Brendon responds to bribery alone to keep him involved at any level in school. Zero interest or motivation. He does his work so he can play sports and have his phone and computer. Bobby has great curiosity about the world and has stores of knowledge from the Science, History, Animal Planet, Discovery, and other cable sources. Knows how to fix stuff from working with his dad, knows how to fly from paying attention to my pilot neighbor. Hates to read and getting him to write is like pulling teeth. His poor teachers. They will both learn what they want and need to make it in this world. I know I don't have what it takes to have home schooled, or unschooled them. I worship their teachers.
Eeep. Get packing Raq!
