Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Hmm, if you can't find an obvious trigger point, I suggest seeing your doctor to get some basic tests done, rule out any insipient problems with anemia or low blood sugar, etc. It could be as easy as a different formula of multivitamin to fix it. It could also be, even if you're not aware of any other symptoms, signs of perimenopause. Hot flashes, there not just for 40-year-olds.

I'm getting the pig!

That would suck. I'd rather be pregnant. And for me, that's really saying something.

Laura, they were just talking about the storms that are due to hit your neck of the woods. It's just thunder and rain, though, right? Nothing to be worried about?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Emily, have you *seen* you? You're pretty distinctive, and it's not a hair thing. More a striking bone structure, gorgeous eyes thing.

Blah, Nicole. I hope it's something small.

And the rest of you: FEEL BETTER. Gosh.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Nicole, it could be allergies. I get the dizzy, nauseated, and tired when they kick in, but you should definitely see your doctor.

A Reference List is a list that includes the essential bibliographical details for each item to which you have referred in the body of your paper. It should ONLY include items to which you have made direct reference.

A Bibliography is a list that includes all items, which you have consulted in the preparation of your work, whether you have referred to them in your paper or not.

But if you are doing a review of the literature, then at this stage I don't what the distinction between sources reviewed, and sources cited would be.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Me neither, Gar. I think I was especially confused because since I sent the bibliography in, if a reference list is what I thought it was, that... was... obviously done.

I'd done some reference to statistics that I couldn't get a primary source for, so I didn't review it for the annotated bib., (which she knew, due to my asking about the particular situation as well as, um, reading the paper) so maybe that's what she's referring to.

I sent her a list of references/resources (C&P'd from the anno'd. bib.) and asked her if that's what she meant. So, hopefully she'll figure out that she needs to spell it out in small words for me. Thanks y'all!

Our wings are not tired.

Laura, they were just talking about the storms

We have a line of thunderstorms headed this way. I hope it stalls for a few hours because we really need the rain. What we don't need is lightning to set off more fires. Nothing tropical, it is coming from the north.

I would have remembered Emily after meeting her the first time, IJS. Forget a life of crime, sweety, you would be picked out of the lineup.

What is even happening?

Nicole, it sounds a lot like some of my panic attacks. It could be too, that something physical (allergies) is triggering them. I'd still start out with a doctor, though.

Hey. New board.

You guys made me hungry. Sadly, I have no Breyer's Peach and it is raining like WHOA outside. However, I do have Breyer's Mint Chocolate Chip!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

OK. So. This morning, my alarm clock, which I forgot to turn off, went off at 8:30. I panicked, "OMG! I teach at 8:30 on Mondays! I'm going to be late! And my students have a test this week that they need to review for, and they're going to kill me!" Then I got dressed, and then checked my watch, and remembered, I teach at 9:30 on Mondays, not 8:30. So I sat down on my couch, and fell asleep. Then woke up at 10:30, went through the whole panic thing again, and finally realized that it's Sunday, not Monday. Changed back into pajamas, went back to sleep.

My brain is a strange place this weekend.
