Walking I get. But power walking? Why not just run for a shorter time?

Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Oh, they're all my favorite. I only go through and check them out every few years, so every time I come by, there's a whole bunch of new ones. I just finished the one about the biology professor who tries to shred one of his students when he stands up and confesses his belief in God, only to have to kid "put him in his place," and shred the professor's belief in evolution.

The one before that was pretty funny, just because part of it show Satan being very happy about the exploding ouija board sales. I had no idea ouija boards sold so well.

In that one Satan also laughs because the TV show Bewitched was so successful as a gateway to allowing Satanism to completely take over American culture.

Now I'm reading one that claims that Halloween is an evil holiday because it's actually Satan's birthday.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Hey Jilli - I need a new messenger bag type thingie for my laptop and sleeve. Any luck with the Gothic Charm School messenger bags?

gnnnng. No. We've been too busy to even contemplate switching merch suppliers, so we're still at CafePress. Tho' Pete is working on new designs to go on GCS merchandise.

Doesn't CafePress have messenger bags?

They only seem to carry ones that are yellow. Which, maybe not so much with the gothy.

Yes. But they only come in eye-searing yellow, and I am so opposed to any GCS logo being placed on that color that I become all incoherent and hand-wavy about it.

(I need a new messenger bag myself, but have accepted that I'm just going to wait until a certain concert and buy one at the merch table. Pete, stop rolling your eyes!)

Now tagless for your comfort.

Oh, Sean, step away from those ignorant people posting on the internets! I don't want you to have to search under the sofa when your eyes roll out of your head.

Those cafepress messenger bags are shuddery yellow. ::shudder::

If only I could order a bunch of them without actually sending any money to Chick Publications. I miss reading them in paper form (I used to be able to find them every now and then in Ann Arbor).

And they're SO OVER THE TOP. They're like the Weekly World News. I have the hardest time believing anyone anywhere reads them for anything other than amusement, but part of me knows/dreads there's actually a LOT of people who read them (or the Weekly World News) and takes it seriously.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

And they're SO OVER THE TOP. They're like the Weekly World News.

Except that the WWN staff have admitted publicly publically in public that they're knowingly making up the most crack-addled whackaloon tales of madeupness that were ever made up, whereas, so far as I know, the Chick Tracts people are serious.

OTOH, if they really are like the WWN, I am in awe of their ability to do it with a straight face for so long. Their conspiracy of silence is right up there with the Nessie photo hoaxers.

The next time someone hands me one, do you want me to save it for you? (Admittedly this doesn't happen very often any more, but every now and again ...)

I need to remember to order more of the wacky Pagan versions of the Chick tracts. Dad swiped my last set of them. [link]
