Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

It's only Thursday, People--y'all have been extra talky today. To sum up:

We use Tide Free.

Oxyclean is the shit.

Totally unsurprised that Cindy's kids are smart, funny and well-behaved.

Kristin, I hope your gram's wrist is better and that she's on the mend.

Emmett=smartypants. Beryllium=bad, nasty, nasty metal.

My niece, her boyfriend and their two kids have been here visiting. They're spending the night. We have to pack to leave for Indy tomorrow and Owen is STILL freakin' awake. The booger.

The status is NOT quo.

Nd got his hair cut and colored, I did the same, and now meara is about to get her cut. We love our hairdresser, oh yes we do.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Why is Beryllium as bad nasty metal?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Maybe Vortex can write it for you!

I did it! It wasn't that bad, I'm just very tired. I really like the way I feel on the Adderall during the day, like every little thing that happens isn't the end of the world and life isn't so very hard, but when I crash off of it at night, I feel like crap and oh so tired. I'm going to talk to my doctor next week about maybe switching to the extended release version, which should greatly reduce that crashing feeling at night.

It's very light and very strong. It's used in a lot of military equipment. But when it's ground down, the parts that can get into the lungs cause a horrible condition called Chronic Beryllium Disease. It basically makes your lungs stop functioning. It's a long, painful, drawn out death. But because it's used in making nuclear bombs and stuff, it's going to get used. The companies using it know it. The people grinding it know it.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

There was one piece of equipment we worked on when I was in Spain, something to do with the Magnetic Anamoly Detection equipment that had beryllium in it. Which did leave a powder residue inside of the equipment. It was inside something you weren't ever supposed to be able to get into, but they still had some funky kit to use for just in case. In case of what, I dunno because you were screwed if the sucker broke open and you can't know that's going to happen before it does.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

So, David, do I call and ask for an appointment with Megan? Is that it?

Sorry, I know this shouldn't be a difficult thing, but... eh. Grownup stuff. I suck at it.
