Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Amy, your family was supposed to learn from my family's mistakes.
I hate the people who made me get up in the pitch black dark this morning. I went back to bed at 7:30 after my early errands. I thought I had punched the button on the coffee maker, but it was unplugged, so when I got back up, no coffee. There is now. Time to get some.
That's my Congressional Rep. -- Ed Markey. What frustrates me is that one part of his argument was how this was going to give us more time outside after school and work. Well no, Ed, not for your actual constituency, because light isn't the only factor -- weather is, as well. Ptui, we shall speak of him no more, because I'd write to him if I could think of an opening line other than:
Dear Ed,
You really screwed the pooch on this one.
Ginger, I hope your mom's ok and that you can get up there this week to see her.
The kids obliged me by sleeping until 8 a.m. today, which is good because I'm sort of sore this morning.
Cash, how are you feeling this morning?
Slighly annoyed since my back is now breaking out in blisters. Grrr. I suspect this 'bout is going to last a while since the breakouts are taking a while to appear. No use wishing for a five day rash that clears up promptly by Friday. I'm going to go back into my doc and see what else she can give me to control the symptoms (antivan? steroids, maybe?)
AmyLiz, sorry about the continued ick.
60 degrees today, so I'm happy about that, at least.
Coming in late because I wasn't around yesterday because Hubs's brother and his family (including 9yo boy and almost-8YO girl) decided to visit.
My song -- "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do." comma comma down dooby down down, indeed.
"Billy Don't Be a Hero"
Their follow-up single, "Who Do You Think You Are" is a great uptempo pop tune that should have been #1.
And there were actually two versions of "Billy" out at the time. The group that didn't have the hit followed up with "The Night Chicago Died."
I know when my mother didn't want to take the pain pills, the doctor told her to keep taking the Ativan, because it works on the nerve endings (whatever that means -- it makes sense to me in a way I can't explain, because Shingles is attacking your nerves).
Are you having pain with the blisters, Cashmere?
Oh, ugh, Cashmere. I'm so sorry.
Make sure you give that doctor an earful when you see her! Or give me her number. I'm cranky today. I'll do it for you!
The group that didn't have the hit followed up with "The Night Chicago Died."
I still love that song, although some hate it with a fiery passion.
Are you having pain with the blisters, Cashmere?
Yup. The skin around the area is super-sensitive, too. The thought of putting a bra on makes me cringe. The urgent care doc offered me vicodin but it knocks me out, literally and I refused it. Can't take it and wtch the kids.
I'll be sure to discuss the issues with her, vw. I've got a list written down.
Back from Columbus exhausted but full of memories of Teh Cute that my niece and nephew have provided. They really are quite awesome.
From a while back:
Do we have any physical therapists in here? K-Bug is interested in this as a career, but isn't sure what to major in. I keep telling her she can start college without deciding on a major, not that she listens to me.
Suzi, my sister (the one in Columbus) is a PT. I'm pretty sure she chose a school with a strong PT program... both schools she went to (she transferred out of her first school after one year) had 5-year PT bachelors/masters programs. She was pretty focused on it from the get-go, but she may know about other paths and options to take as well. Let me know if you'd like to have K-Big get in touch with her.
My song was Helen Reddy's
Delta Dawn.
NORA!
I'm glad you had a good weekend!
