Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Will they pay for prescription safety glasses?

They did. Only I made the mistake of getting bifocals instead of trifocals. I've got to take them back and have them put the trifocals in, I can not live without them as I found out the hard way.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Skipping, to bitch. I am in pain, due to being on my feet for nine hours at work. Today I was scheduled to work 6 hours. The group home I worked at yesterday and today has an outbreak of head lice. So, we all had to come in early, de-louse ourselves with nasty chemicals, and spent the whole day chasing around bagging things, washing 40 brazillion loads of laundry, and spraying, and spraying, and spraying loads of toxic chemicals everywhere until our airways are feeling all peppery, then vacuuming everything I could think of. Mind you, when I got the call, I checked the cdc.gov website for info. [link] The info I saw there said fuddigabout the nasty sprays and just vacuum. Nobody there wanted to believe about that, after all, they had called the 1-800 number on the Rid can, and they said spray, spray, bag, and spray some more.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Because you know they wouldn't have any reason to have recurring infestations to keep the marks customers coming back.

Damn, Andi, that sucks. The big thing is to throw out any combs/brushes and do the bedding, that's about it. Heavens knows it was a persistent problem in boot camp, but it didn't take that much to get rid of it.

Oh, I'm sure Rid has no ulterior motive in saying you must spray!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Oh, Andi, that sucks. I used to work at a group home; I couldn't take it, so I give you kudos.

I can never get liquid liner to look right on lower lids. Too harsh on me. I just use a smudgy gray if anything. Mascara does well enough for daytime.

Liquid gold eyeliner! I want some! It would look hundreds of times better on Vortex, though. I love colored eyeliner.

And Happy Birthday, libkitty, mah sistah in kittiness! if not love of heights!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Oh Jesus fucking criminy.

I have been down to Belmont to see family the past three weekends in a row.

Tomorrow, a friend of mine in Petaluma is having a birthday party starting around 7 or 8. I have known about this party for weeks, and I am looking forward to the fun.

Tonight, I get a message from my aunt, and I return it. As it turns out, in the past three weekends I have been down there, they failed to mention that my cousin is having a party tomorrow. A birthday party. A Sweet Sixteen birthday party. From 6 to 10.

My aunt, to me, says it's totally fine if I can't come, I have other plans, I didn't know. But behind closed doors, I know I'll never hear the end of it if I don't go. Gaaaah. Of course, this also means I need to get her a birthday present tomorrow.

I'm going to see if I can leave early from Belmont and get to Petaluma late. And then get home in time to get a good night's sleep for a 12-mile run the next morning after which I will attempt to book it to San Francisco to have brunch with Scola and folks. My poor car is going to get a workout.

Hey. New board.

I just skipped 3000+ posts (in fact, I just opened this thread for the first time since we switched to 35... I'm a bad Bitch...) to give a big "WOOHOO!" to Erin's COMMed teacher soliloquy. I made a lot more money before this job, I'll make a lot more money if I ever leave it, and the chances are very good that I'm smarter and better educated than whoever the fuck YOU are, teacher-sneerers of the world. Nobody smart enough to understand the power of their own education can doubt that everything they have and everything they do was made possible by a long list of teachers who devoted their minds, their bodies, and their souls to making sure YOU had the chance to go forward with your life. They did this not for the money, or the social status, or, clearly, the gratitude, but out of a belief that education is important, children are important, and the world needs smart people in these positions to mold the next generation of humanity. We will continue their legacy, giving them the honor and respect that you so rudely withhold.

That sounds like a crazy weekend, P-C. Hope you can pull it off.

I got a navy eyeliner pencil, too, I want to try more exotic colors, but I need to work up to it slowly. With the liquid, I ended up taking off the excess on the lower lid with a q-tip, and it looked pretty good. Mascara, I haven't mastered mascara. It ends up on my contact lenses pretty often. I'm not sure how.
