Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

brillig

Me: "Calcutta" by Lawrence Welk--who was bounced by Del Shannon's "Runaway". If I'd only held on a couple of days.

Boy, I regret looking that up.

Hubby: "Young Love" by Tab Hunter--at least I've heard of that.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

"Fire" by the Ohio Players was apparently the #1 song the day I was born. I've never even heard of it.

Are you shitting me? That's one of the greatest funk dance songs of all time. I guarantee you ND has it on his computer.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Nope. Just asked him. He said he might have it on vinyl.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

3-ish sounds great, Kristin!

I got lucky, sandwiched between Neil Diamond and the Partridge Family.

Now tagless for your comfort.

If I liked the doctor well enough, I probably wouldn't leave, because it's hard to find a new one, but I sure would talk about it, and talk about the office practices that drive you batty, too. I've done that with our pediatricians more than once, and to their credit, they've been open to listening, and the problems usually seem to get addressed.

I like the doctor. I like her bedside manner. The fact that I left without a script on Friday is partially her fault, partially mine. The fact that I called the office at 4 o'clock to get the script called in and was pretty much told "it ain't going to happen" is unacceptable. As is the lack of weekend on-call service. I'm going to discuss this with her. DH thinks that it would be difficult to find another practice that doesn't have issues, too, so unless we can get a sterling recommendation from one of our friends, it's probably going to be useless to switch practices.

And the rash is starting to break out on my back, which is going to suck. Feh.

"Fire" by the Ohio Players was apparently the #1 song the day I was born. I've never even heard of it.

I think you've probably heard it. Burger King used it in an ad for flame broiling. "Fiiiiiiiire. Bawmp mmm bawmp Fiiiiiiire."

"Cracklin' Rosie" by Neil Diamond was #1 the day I was born. Oh, how apt!

Cash, we must be almost the same time! I dodged that bullet in favor of the Jackson 5.
