Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thrive to spite them

I could be wrong about the letter writer, but the phrase "miracle of the resurrection of Jesus" struck me. But also the idea that faith is only belief in the miracles, specifically the miracle of the resurrection, also struck me. The way that I've heard some ultraconservative Christians that make claims that the only way to go know good from bad/right from wrong is if you believe in Jesus.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Very frustrating day. My therapist did not give me a copy of the ADD test results the other day. He said if my PCP had any questions he could just call him. My PCP wouldn't call him, and wants the results faxed over before he will do anything. He acted like he had no time for me and that he didn't believe me, which is very much unlike my doctor. So, nothing was really accomplished today.

After I left there I rushed to the market to get a ready cooked chicken and drove home, because I told TCG I would be home by 6 for dinner. I got home just before 6, and call him to find out how long he is going to be. He hadn't even left work yet, and it takes him over an hour to get home.

I very aggravated about the whole day, probably more than I have any right to be.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

The letter writer seemed like a Christian to me. I really can't imagine someone of any other religion (or, really, the majority of Christians) claiming that Christianity is the only religion that involves faith.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I'm sorry, ND. Totally their loss.

Sucky ND. May a dreamier job be just around the corner, and lucky you! You're available!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Very sorry and surprised. It's their loss indeed. May this turn out to free you up for something better (and, speaking as a low-level academic worker bee, I wouldn't be surprised if, even though you didn't get this, the whole process does lead you to another open door somewhere down the line).
