Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I like the last line, askye!

Awww, I'm sorry. And I think thwarted plans for sugary crap are totally worth getting all emo over.

Thankfully, they broke us for lunch right after that. So I had overpriced Bank of America Tower food. Whee?

Okay, I also snagged a Top Pot and a double short nonfat from Starbucks. And books at Elliott Bay, discounted on account of juror status.

None of these things are ridding me of the Crud and Woozy, but they do make Crud and Woozy more entertaining.

Thanks! I'm trying to gentle mock and squelish my desire to write "ARGH!! Stop making Christians sound like ignorant arrogant jerks!"

Sorry you are feeling bad and dealing with jury duty.

What is even happening?

Thanks! I'm trying to gentle mock and squelish my desire to write "ARGH!! Stop making Christians sound like ignorant arrogant jerks!"

I thought the person wasn't a Christian and was trying to get the paper to be more inclusive.

I read it as someone trying to claim "Faith" as being exclusively Christian because they are Christian and since the paper is trying to be more inclusive they shouldn't use that word and should stick to Religion.

Of course I see now that some how the references to the paper got stripped from my quoting. So I'll fix that.

edited because I left some words out.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Your letter as written sounds fine, askye, but original letter writing dude didn't sound like an arrogant Christian to me. not that he isn't, necessarily, but it's not overwhelmingly obvious from that letter, which really did sound like a well-meaning attempt for inclusiveness that just overlooked an alternate meaning.

None. I'm looped up on cold medicine and my brain doesn't function when ill and tired, because I had NyQuil last night, which means I haven't slept much. (It keeps me going up an down all freaking night.)

They need nap tubes here.

Can relate to Tep and her feeling that no matter what she does she looks like a Hummel. I have taken one sexy photo in thirty-three years.

I've basically gotten resigned to the fact that the best I'll get is "cute."

I could be wrong about the letter writer, but the phrase "miracle of the resurrection of Jesus" struck me. But also the idea that faith is only belief in the miracles, specifically the miracle of the resurrection, also struck me. The way that I've heard some ultraconservative Christians that make claims that the only way to go know good from bad/right from wrong is if you believe in Jesus.
