[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Oh, that is a beautiful piece of real estate, Nora.

I just heard back re. my friend. It is "only" a viral infection of her upper respiratory system. Given that they were thinking "blood clot in lung" this is actually good news. Given that she's pregnant and there's not much she can take to knock the infection out, the good news is somewhat qualified.

She is still utterly miserable. She's in her fifth month and has actually lost weight.

Oh, your poor friend, Anne. Continued ~ma for her to get through this misery. Glad everyone's stable at least though.

Our wings are not tired.

Good to hear it was a less scary problem. Quick recovery for her.

Health~ma to your friend, Anne. How very scary.

Migraine~ma, vw.

I looooove the real estate porn. I'm trying to imagine what the actual estate looks like, because that carriage house is HUGE. I can't go to our local parade of homes to often because my million dollar house envy turns me into a depressed mess.

Coffee is ready and I'm still sitting. This is all wrong.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I'm both glad and sorry for your friend, Anne. A viral infection is a miserable thing, especially with pregnancy-limited treatment options, but YAY that the baby is okay. How long will she be stuck in the hospital?

Matilda's on the couch with Hec right now -- I think they're watching Muriel's Wedding. She has been alternately incredibly dear and incredibly fussy lately, getting more and more frustrated with her own immobility. Last night she got utterly fed up with lying and sitting in our arms, and we spent half an hour swinging and swooping her around the living room, which made her positively giddy. She giggled and cackled and grinned like a mad thing, one fist jammed in her mouth being munched the entire time. Movement! Speed! So good!

Our wings are not tired.

It is so wonderful and we are so happy for the babies when they master the crawling, walking, and running. But then the chasing part begins. And they do get into so much more when they master the stacking and climbing. They get less frustrated, and we more.

I have avoided the weeding all morning, but now it must happen.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Still sending getting-better~ma to your friend, Anne.

BTW, Hil, I really enjoyed looking at your photos.

As for things I have accomplished today:

1. Took Harvey outside on harness for 30 min. or so.

2. Raked some of the flower beds while out with Harvey.

3. Took Sammie out on her harness.

4. Took Sammie back in after 30 sec.

5. Took the corned beef brisket out of the crockpot after it had cooked all day yesterday and all night. We kept cooking it for a while, then draining off the liquid and putting more water in, as it kept tasting like a salt monster had put a curse on it. Yeah, I _know_, corned beef, kinda s'posed to taste like salt with a bit of beef in it, but still....

6. Ate a banana and hot cocoa for breakfast.

7. Ate a corned beef sandwich for a snack.

I'm trying to imagine what the actual estate looks like, because that carriage house is HUGE.

Here's a picture of the main house- it's broken into several condos- I'm not sure how many. They were finishing up the renovations when we first moved here- we pass by every time we go into town or coming to or from the train station. [link]

I can't go to our local parade of homes to often because my million dollar house envy turns me into a depressed mess.

The million dollar homes, for me, are so removed from my reality (in a way I'm OK with) that it's just eye candy/porn. Though I sometimes get the class rage. I get upset when looking at stuff that I think is nicer and cheaper, or just one step above what we can afford and gorgeous.

I think it's the class rage that gets me, too. I hadn't thought of it in that terms, but it's what it comes down to. They could build much cheaper homes without all the bells and whistles, but still of very high quality and that are still affordable. Instead, they tell us the only way we can have nice is to have a million dollars. The housing industry in this country is so fucked up.

Totally.
