Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

So, I picked up Emmett early, called JZ and said, "I'll scoop you up and we'll all go get Matilda."

Emmett's talking about how much he loves sushi.

JZ and I are all, "Buh?" Because Emmett has the palate of a 10 y.o. boy and the idea of him eating raw fish is not within the realm.

He assures us he likes California rolls and can we please please please get sushi tonight.

Uh. Okay. We swing by fancy grocery store Andronico's where we know we can get sushi. I get the spicy tuna rolls, JZ gets nigiri. Just because, I point out the deli array and say "Is there anything else you like to eat in there?" "Pork ribs!"

So we get home and Emmett announces that everything in his sushi has too strong of a flavor except for the rice and seaweed. Ultimately this is not filling. Yes, he had the ribs for dinner.

Mind - we had to go pretty far out of our way to get sushi for a Thursday night at home dinner. But you gotta give them room to make that mistake. JZ and I enjoyed our sushi. Yes, we washed it down with Chardonnay 'cuz we're Cali like that.

Hec, consider yourself lucky. CJ likes sushi. Real sushi. Raw salmon usually, but also tobiko, tuna, and unagi. He is can be expensive if we are not careful when he orders.

Sushi killed the thread? Dang, never thought I'd be able to have a decent night of sleep and still be able to make Raisin Bran posts.

Don't wanna get dressed. Don't wanna go to work....

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm trying to decide whether I really need to do any work this morning. I'm thinking no. Or maybe yes, since I know I'm not going to be doing any this afternoon.

So sleepy. One should not have to wake up at 6 a.m. after not going to bed till midnight. How do people do this on a regular basis?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm sleepy, too. This morning some dumb bird in the tree outside our bedroom decided 3 a.m. was the proper time for tweeting. The good news is that I'm off today at 1 p.m. and headed to Richmond to celebrate my mother's 73rd birthday (yesterday) and my sister's 43rd (monday). IOW, ice cream cake!
