I like books. I just don't want to take on too much. Do they have an introduction to the modern blurb?

Buffy ,'Lessons'

Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

When I bring her out in the morning (and she's very sunny and cheerful in the morning), Emmett's usually on the living room floor in his pajamas, eating Apple Jacks and watching Nickelodeon. Then he sees her and makes gimme-gimme gestures, and he stands her up on his lap, and she stares at him with her fist jammed into her drooly but smiling mouth. And he leans forward until his forehead is touching hers and is talking to her and telling her she's cute, and then he declares, "I love you!" and hugs her like a pink drooly teddy bear. She promptly leans in and begins to gum and lick his shoulder. Emmett is both charmed and disgusted by this.

Oof.

Hec, are you trying to kill us with the cute?

I'm going with yes.

Because books.

Aw, Matilda and Emmett have the sibling love! Does she look for him, the mornings when he's at his mom's?

So sorry about the computer. Computer ills are of the big, big suck.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Does she look for him, the mornings when he's at his mom's?

Not yet. But she does give him big beaming smiles of "Hey! I remember you!" when he's been gone for a few days.

Emmett's opera singing is just terrible, by the way. But she thinks it's funny. He also whistles to her a lot which stops her fussing. Both of these are bit grating for JZ and me, but it only takes a half step back to realize that it's just part of their relationship and they both like it.

It's funny, I was super conscious about putting the car seat into his backseat area because that's really Emmett's Space and he stretches out back there. But he's been completely good and uncomplaining about having her with him in the back, and he tends to nap draped over the car seat with one hand touching her. And when she fusses he doesn't really complain, he's just concerned for her and tries to help.

So sorry about the computer. Computer ills are of the big, big suck.

Yes they are. Fortunately we've got enough credit card room to fix or get something new in a hurry, which we'll need since my book is due at the end of April.

This is so Ben-and-Sara it makes me almost weepy. It's a Very Good Thing.

Yay for credit card room!

Compassionately intolerant

The sibling symbiosis is completely charming and utterly alien to me. What a fantastic gift for both of them.

Book due! How grand. Best of luck with the 'puter reacquisition and project finalization. I vow to finish MY book this year. I just wish I had your motivation (i.e., someone who wants the final project!)

What is even happening?

Oh, billytea and Biyi! Best wishes to you both.

billytea, your wife is (as I'm sure you've realized) incredibly gorgeous. You two look wonderful together, and I'm so happy for you. I saw your announcement in Beep Me! and thought, "Score one for the good guys." All the best to you both.

Aimee, I am so sorry for all you are going through. I hope your mom finds her way back soon, and I do think Beverly has a point. Take it easy, sweetie.

Hec and JZ, I'm sorry about your computer. The Emmett and Matilda stories are precious. I hope you save them, somewhere. That was one thing Narrator said to me, and I was so glad she did. I just wish I'd been better about it, and known Narrator about five years earlier.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

{{Aimee}} sending you lots of love and warmth. and extra love so you don't lose it on your mom.

billytea - the best best to you - and those pictures just killed me.

that's a good thing because Matilda and Emmett stories killed me, but I was already dead.

ION, I tried to drink all the coffee in the world, yet I am still 1/2 asleep.

DH upgraded my firefox - it has a spell check in it. I guess my post will have less interesting guessing games in them. however, It wants me to capitalize firefox. I refuse to bow to such tyranny, esp since it isn't recognizing the fact that i did not capitalize the first letter of this sentence.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Okay, I have to be catty. I have to have to have to.

I got an e-mail last night with my group's latest "newsletter." It's not normally e-mailed out, because it's usually a PDF file available on the Web site, but whatever. This time it's html, and e-mailed out.

First of all, about 2/3 of the way down in the newsletter, there is a photo to illustrate a piece about some Easter event -- it's a NAKED WOMAN, viewed from behind, with bunny ears and a bunny tail.

Now, you tell me: who wants to open their e-mail at work and, given that the group has never sent out NAKED PICTURES before, get a picture of NAKED BUNNY WOMAN when they aren't expecting it?!?

That is so fucking uncool. I want to complain, but I know they won't take it seriously, coming from me. Maybe I can get The Boy to do it.

Now, other than the UNEXPECTED NAKED BUNNY WOMAN, there's the little matter of the writing. For instance, as part of the Easter event article, we have this list:

Some of the projects will be to come up with a list of the proper ways to:

Hide and egg
The proper ways to find and egg
The most unique way to use and egg once it is found.
Conduct a sub egg role contest

I just want to know -- does the "egg role" contest offer categories for "deviled," "Benedict," and "over-easy"?

Also related to the Easter event:

We want this to be a great turn out, take over the restaurant, and run the vanillas out. Let show them that this is our place and the vanillas are the ones out of place. Let's make it happen. We need 50-60 plus. Open to all groups or interested individuals.

See, I think that's just insulting, and puts the group in a very bad light. One of the important things that "deviant" groups always have to remember -- especially in a place as conservative as Cincy -- is to not be all up in people's faces with our kink. So "run the vanillas out"??? Yeah, that's going to work.

It's actually a staggeringly incoherently written piece, and I'm honestly wondering if whomever wrote it was drunk or high when they wrote it. Try and follow the flow of these paragraphs, which are un-edited by me (except to redact the group's name) and are in exactly the same order as they appear in the newsletter:

This party will be governed by The Bunny Rules not [group] rules, however you may be ask to sign a waiver that you agree to hold everyone else harmless from jokes, wise cracks, better than Vanilla conversation being sat on by the bunny, and food coloring stains.

Bunny's Rules

Alcohol will be encouraged (say it aint so), but please drink responsibly. Remember the proper care and feeding of the Bunny is very important. Remember the liquids! All Bunnys need their liquids.

Costumes are welcome but not required.

Minute! The Bunny says "there are no rules," except to have a great time.

Um? The HELL?!?

Apologies if the above made anyone's brain go splat.

t edit I'm just glad it wasn't over-edited, because it might have changed the meaning. Whatever that is.

What is even happening?

Sorry Teppy. No time to read. I'm off to play in the semi-finals of Hide And Egg.
