Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

This afternoon will never. end. Does it not understand that I have an Important Appointment with people for sushi and cupcakes?

Oh, and because I had squee-d about it in the last thread (I think): it does indeed look like I'm on the list for the Meet & Greet for the Seattle MCR concert! flail flail flail

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

I'm so happy that javachik is posting in Bitches now! YAY! She rocks like a rocking thing that rocks.

Very sweet, but these days I mostly just have Rocks for Brains.

I think Cashmere has postponed for two weeks. And she got a couple of spiffy vouchers AND saved over one hundred bucks. Still. Postponed travel is a real let-down.

I updated my cv and actually sent it to recruiters AND lovely Beth B.

Whee! See Jilli flail!

Yay Robin with the mad walkin skilz!

Cute Toto!

Life of Laura: Ride home from school Brendon he accidentally hits the radio button and it advances to some station boasting Everything Eighties, or some such. Burning Down the House is playing and Brendon shocked blurts out "What is that?!" So, of course I left it on that station the whole way home. Hee. Also, in random Laura world, my old alma mater VCU took down Duke in the first round of March Madness last night. Was a good game. I didn't even know they had a basketball team when I went there.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Burrelll--I owe you an email so BADLY. Sorry--I shall rectify that immediately.

A couple of days away and the shit hits the fan!

I'm so sorry for your loss, DJ.

Aimee, I'm sending all good vibes your way (yours, too, MM). What a fucked week. I hope being with your family is at least a little comforting. {{{}}}

GF and I have been joking that we got married today. This morning we signed our trust, will, and power of attorney over healthcare docs and put in the paperwork for domestic partnership. It's only been 12 years...

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Congratulations GC!! That's a big step.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Congrats, GC and newly legalified GF!

So. Hungry.

Lee and I are safely in Seattle and I walked down to the Pike Place Market to unwind from the drive. Then bought postcards like I was jonesing and came back to our room to write. There's a guy playing jazz on his sax on the street that we can hear too. Kinda nice.

Off to shower.

Hey GC, I say you call it an anniversary type day. The more dates you have to celebrate each year the better. My sincere wish is that you are able to have a more worthy wedding day a whole lot sooner than 12 years from now. Having been married 3 times it upsets me more than I can express that everyone isn't allowed to express their love and commitment this way. OK, I may be a little more annoyed than usual about the inequity since I get to celebrate 17 years tomorrow and other couples I care about don't have that option.

I don't really believe that Cass and Lee are having all this fun together. Where is the photographic proof I say?!

Thanks guys. We finally did the domestic partnership thing because we found out that if one of you becomes seriously ill, the partner can get time off of work to care for you under the law. Otherwise we didn't see the value and we both have paranoia issues with the current administration. V for Vendetta anyone?

Totally jealous of Cass and Lee!
