Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired.

Good to see you check in Ginger. It is so much better to be where you can see first hand how your mother is doing.

Our wings are not tired.

I've been in Jilli's basement. The cages really are beautiful, even empty.

I'm still working and I have to be awake in 6 hours to start the next day. A beautiful cage sounds like a better plan.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Jesus Christ, didn't the universe get the fucking memo? Lay off the Bitches.

I am so sorry for your loss, DJ.

Ginger, lots of ~ma for both you and your mother.

Beverly, I'm so glad you're going to get a break.

Suzi, great news about your mother.

Aimee, words aren't enough. This week sucks giant monkey balls. I am so sorry about your grandmother and about your job. You don't deserve any of this. You're one of the good guys, damnit, and it should be nothing but sunshine for you.

Miracleman, you made me cry. I wish there were more out there like you. All of my ~ma is headed your way.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Chocolate and fernet work well together also.
I would happily add Fernet to the mix...

You should totally do this. I think it's an excellent plan. How we'll explain this to Pete, I dunno. We'll think of something.
Um ... we'll tell him it's for me?

Yay train tix!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Aimee, all my ~ma are belong to you. I'm in awe of how much MM loves you.

IOcatN, I may have to smite Daniel by leaving him to deal with the cats fighting. He decided tonight was a good night to experiment with how we give catnip to them. Usually we sprinkle some on a spot on the floor. Harvey finds it first, then defends his stash against Sammie who tends to respond a bit more slowly to the smell of it. We then offer Harvey a brand new stash, to which he migrates, leaving Sammie to peaceably the slightly used original stash.

Tonight, Daniel thought it would be fun to put some nip into a box which is large enough to comfortably house a cat in sphinx position, but will not accommodate any rolling around in ecstasy. Sammie was 5 feet from it; Harvey was 25ish. Sammie got there first. She sat there very regally. Then Harvey came to investigate (and this is when Daniel ascended the stairs to go to bed, saying, "I'll leave this to you."), and she slapped him. Repeatedly. So I put a second stash inside the 2 ft. cardboard tube that is covered in burlap for the cats' entertainment. Both cats wanted the new stash, but Harvey got there first, and Sammie proceeded to try to slap Harvey from outside of it. So first I attempted to lure Sammie back to the box with toys. When that didn't work, I put more catnip outside the big tube for her. Except then Harvey went after the new, new, stash at the same time as Sammie did.

Ok, and the fighting has been overcome by the munchies - Sammie is trying to lick my ice cream bowl.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oh Aimee, Joe, I am so so sorry. What an unbelievably fucked up day.

And Cass, I for one recommend the younger men. At least it's worked out brilliantly for me.

I'm so sorry about Aimee's grandmother and the screwed up job situation.

Mostly lurking...

Morning, Bitches. I'm really hoping today is a better day around here. My bitches need a break!

I am trying to decide if I want to buy tickets to a Bruins game next week. They're having a concert afterwards by one of my current favorite groups, The Wreckers. The tickets are pretty cheap (and have a student discount with ID), but it would be REALLY late on a Thursday night (school night) and would require sitting through at least part of a Bruins game (sorry Matt, hockey...just not my thing). But, The Wreckers! By themselves! I love supporting them, 'cause they're just awesome. I saw them in concert at a club here in Boston last fall, and they're just charming to watch. And, I know their music even better now (got their CD after that concert), so I could really enjoy it all.

What is even happening?

vw, have you ever seen a hockey game in person? It's both more exciting and harder to follow (because sadly, the eyes aren't as adept as the camera, at following the puck). I love hockey, so I'm not trying to talk you out of it -- just trying to give you some perspective.

I have never had a marionberry truffle, nor indeed any sort of marionberry anything.

Apparently living alone has turned me into some sort of disrespectful ingrate.

Who knew?
