Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm so sorry about Aimee's grandmother and the screwed up job situation.

Morning, Bitches. I'm really hoping today is a better day around here. My bitches need a break!

I am trying to decide if I want to buy tickets to a Bruins game next week. They're having a concert afterwards by one of my current favorite groups, The Wreckers. The tickets are pretty cheap (and have a student discount with ID), but it would be REALLY late on a Thursday night (school night) and would require sitting through at least part of a Bruins game (sorry Matt, hockey...just not my thing). But, The Wreckers! By themselves! I love supporting them, 'cause they're just awesome. I saw them in concert at a club here in Boston last fall, and they're just charming to watch. And, I know their music even better now (got their CD after that concert), so I could really enjoy it all.

What is even happening?

vw, have you ever seen a hockey game in person? It's both more exciting and harder to follow (because sadly, the eyes aren't as adept as the camera, at following the puck). I love hockey, so I'm not trying to talk you out of it -- just trying to give you some perspective.

I have never had a marionberry truffle, nor indeed any sort of marionberry anything.

Apparently living alone has turned me into some sort of disrespectful ingrate.

Who knew?

No, I haven't. Actually, J used to always try to get me to go to games at Harvard. Apparently, they're really fun. Maybe I should give it a try. Wanna come with? :)

marionberry truffle

I read this as "marionberry kerfuffle." Clearly it's going to be a coffee kind of day.

Coffee!

The metro was pretty empty this morning, so clearly 50% of the greater D.C. area decided that hibernation was the appropriate response to the cold, wet morning we're having.

vw, I love hockey in person. It's fast, fun, and boys on skates are very sexy. The first thing we did when we knew we were moving to D.C. was buy tickets for when the Sabres were in town. And by "we" I mean "me" because my DH wouldn't buy Sabres tickets, he'd buy Stars tickets.

Oh honey, thank you. If this was a month or so from now, and my meds were actually working, I'd love it. But right now, I'd end up mugging you for your big girl Ativan, and then find there's still not enough Ativan in the world.

I felt like a victor this week, because I went to the 7-11 and the Comic Book store by myself, and stayed at the hairdresser after my family left. I had to fight off an anxiety attack waiting (waiting kills me) for the first grade to get out of the classroom for the field trip.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

You totally were a victor. (Though I'll confess my first thought was "Cindy got a ferret?")

Ann, that's a ferret.
