Dawn: I think a date should be in a real fancy restaurant, then champagne at a night club with a floor show, then ballroom dancing. Joyce: Unfortunately, we're not dating in a movie from the thirties.

Also, Joss is writing Runaways and Vaughan is writing Buffy?

How funny.

If we wanted a bleak, action-oriented take on the characters, Ellis would be a good choice. And Jamie Delano could bring the über-creepy. Also, the proper voice for a self-absorbed iconoclastic Brit with no compassion, if they wanted Spike for a guest appearance.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Joss better not mess up my Runaways.

::sniff::

Art Crawl!!!

Wow, are we actually getting close to the end of this thread? Do we have new thread names line up? Or do we expect the last 37 posts to take another 6 months or so?

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Porn and Ultimate Power Too damn funny.

Also, I don't really follow Ultimate Spider-Man and the like, but I presume Ultimate Spidey and Ultimate Kitty Pryde are an item?

Yep.

God, I hate Greg Land's work.

He's using Dominic Purcell for Hyperion, isn't he?

Yep.

I see. No particular objection in principle, however, I can't help but wonder if the current crop of comic writers are having a strange reaction to the fanboy crushes of yesteryear these days -- what with Whedon finally hooking up Kitty and Colossus in Astonishing, and the overt and increasing sexualization of the Scarlet Witch over in Avengers (hooking her up in one-night stands with Cap and now Hawkeye) and now this, I can't help but think there's something profoundly Freudian going on here.

Didn't Wanda and Clint have a really nice platonic friendship through all the years when she was ping-ponging between the Vision and Simon Williams? Why they hafta mess a good thing up ?
