Saffron: But we've been wed. Aren't we to become one flesh? Mal: Well, no, uh... We're still two fleshes here, and I think that your flesh ought to sleep somewhere else.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Let's all be jealous of Jess!!

I might be a little more jealous of Neil Gaiman right there. Jess looks pretty cute.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

(We were just wandering around killing time before dinner, and then DH's bro mentions that there's a big comic book store around here, and we get there and DH and I are all like, "Oh, it's the main Forbidden Planet! The NYC branch is pathetic and tiny in comparison!" And then we're wandering around looking at stuff, and we notice the posters announcing a Neil Gaiman signing. And then we're like "Huh...that's today. In half an hour." So we go around back and get in line and the line is down the block but we're all but DUDE NEIL GAIMAN IS AT THE END OF THIS LINE so we wait and wait and wait and chat with the other people in line who are just charmed that Americans are waiting in this line too and 90 minutes later that picture was taken.)

(PS, it's startling when people are talking about you in a thread you only lurk in, and rarely at that. Very startling!)

I'm especially envious because he's not going to be doing many signings for Fragile Things.

Plus, y'know, you got to see Neil.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Man, that used to be my comic store. Good times, good times.

Um.

Man, that used to be my comic store. Good times, good times.

I believe the main store moved from its New Oxford Street location sometime last year? I was in London in January, and it had been replaced by a hair salon and coffee shop. Yes, I know, picky picky.

Anyhow, for those who were wondering whether the events of Astonishing are pre or post Civil War: [link]

eta regarding the store move, wikipedia says 2003 (no link as closing bracket messes it up)
