I'm a vision of hotliness, and how weird is that? Mystical comas. You know, if you can stand the horror of a higher power hijacking your mind and body so that it can give birth to itself, I really recommend 'em.

At least here in NY, there's a biography of Hergé tonight on PBS, as part of the "P.O.V." series.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Bwah! If the Power Girl one turned out to be true, thousands of fanboys would be traumatized forever.

A couple of comics thoughts:

About Civil War, I just want to reiterate that if one has a big sweeping plan that will affect almost everybody one cares about and Captain America, T'Challa, Stephen Strange, and Charles Xavier all refuse to have anything to do with it because they feel it's unwise or morally wrong, some second thoughts are in order. Also, sending armed military units after someone for not supporting a law before it's even been passed should be pinging a lot more people's fascism alerts than it is.

About She-Hulk I just loved that half the Marvel universe reacted to the news of her wedding in a manner recalling "And the winner is... Marisa Tomei for My Cousin Vinny."

Here's a report on the 52 panel from San Diego Comic Con.

Easily my favorite snippet -

New heroes from Japan will soon appear in the pages of 52, where, Morrison said, there is a subculture of kids who want to be superheroes. One of the heroes named? Most Excellent Super Bat. "It's super heroes as fashion," Morrison said.

Panels with Grant Morrison are always fun. Some 15 years ago at a UK Con there was a Grant Morrison 'hangout' panel for ages 18+ in which he started by giving someone £100 to go get champagne for the audience. They sent them out for seconds too.

The Sandman Tarot cards -- The 1995 edition is the crappy one, right?

Huh. Some Googling indicates that it's the good one. Despite a few dings in the packaging, methinks I got a good deal? [link]

It looks that way. One of these years, I will sell my extra set of them. I just have to be willing to write up a good description explaining that the puncture hole in the box is because a bat-festooned candelabra fell on them during an earthquake.

But yes, that is the good edition, and it looks like you got them for a good price!
