Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Anyone still reading Y: Last Man? It's moving so sloooooooowly.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

I am. I feel like it's moving slowly, but I think part of that is that I read the first 4 TPBs all in a row, so now waiting a month is excruciating. Quite a bunch of stuff happened this issue. Also, I think he's trying to build up to a big thing soon.

There'd better be a big thing soon--there have only been half things, it feels like for a while. It's all search, search, obstacle! Tune in next week.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Starting this month, I will have a monthly column in the Comic Buyer's Guide about manga.

Congratulations, CaBil! Though personally I'd rather have you around to parse the news for me.

Alito - legalistic with Federalist slant or nutbar in mild clothing?

Rove - going down or sleezing through?

Cheney - going down or sleezing through?

FEMA - should we turn the whole frickin' thing over to the Coast Guard? How would that work in Wyoming, which is coastless?

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I'm gonna take a stab at answering Hec's questions, b/c it's Friday afternoon and I'm bored. So, in order: nutbar; going down; sleazing through; underpants gnomes.

I don't want underpants gnomes in charge of FEMA.

This is why I don't turn to you to parse the news.

Seems to me having access to their stash would have been handy for Michael Brown when he found out people were actually expecting him to do something in response to a disaster.

He understood he was supposed to roll up his sleeves.

So. Manga.

From what I can tell, Naruto is the Japanese Harry Potter, only much more violent. Which makes it way cooler, of course.
