I'm a vision of hotliness, and how weird is that? Mystical comas. You know, if you can stand the horror of a higher power hijacking your mind and body so that it can give birth to itself, I really recommend 'em.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Fugitive!Tim is the Tim We Love.

I'm also fond of Teen Titans Tim. A little grittier, even less trusting of the Bat than he is in Murderer/Fugitive. Actually, Titans!Tim seems to be a reasonable evolution from Murderer/Fugitive!Tim, w/r/t the creepy obsessive detective skillz.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I know folks had been carping about some bad Bat!Writing, but I didn't have perspective -- I think Willingham!Tim is about all I know. Outside of groups, but it's hard to know if Titans or IC Tim is the real deal because of all the variables.

Well, until today.

I just finished book 1, and I'm nervous about book 2, because I have no 3.

But there's no way I'll go to sleep without reading it.

Of course, I'm falling in love with Cass all over again. Her hero worship is so desperate.

And that last bit, the one where the dying detective asks Batman to solve the Wayne murders? So transparently manipulative.

Also, effective.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I just finished book 1, and I'm nervous about book 2, because I have no 3.

I'm still in the first half or so of Book 2, which is kind of weird because it's about Batman chasing poisoned heroin or something, which comes out of nowhere. I miss the rest of the gang.

Of course, I'm falling in love with Cass all over again. Her hero worship is so desperate.

And she's so adorable! Loved the nerve strike issue.

Also, effective.

I think I sighed with relief and smiled at the end of that.

As is his blind spot for her, like we discussed last night. (The scene on the rooftop? Manoman.)

All Cass's fragility is carefully concentrated. Oh, she'll knock Steph out without hesitation, get clocked to help illustrate her point (the lesser among us might work on our language skills and just explain...) but she's so shaken and vulnerable about the possible imperfection of Batman.

Reading this is making me more pissed about War Games. Why would I want to read the TPBs of that? Pfft.

eta:

The scene on the rooftop? Manoman.

Oh, YES.

So fucking funny.

get clocked to help illustrate her point

That was so awesome.

but she's so shaken and vulnerable about the possible imperfection of Batman.

She's screaming at everyone.

The scene on the rooftop? Manoman.

Dude, seriously. I don't think I knew about the blind spot thing, but it makes that scene make so much more sense. Because I was all, "...the fuck? He's talking to her? Wow."

Reading this is making me more pissed about War Games. Why would I want to read the TPBs of that? Pfft.

I've been having the exact same thoughts, ita.

Respect is Back. Fear is Next.

Does "Jossverse in Other Media" cover what other characters in other shows say when referring to the show? Like in tonight's Gilmore Girls, when Rory, upon learning Paris is going to "put herself out" for the evening, asks "Who are you going to hook up with, Spike and Drusilla?" Does that count?

Originally, I think it was meant to encompass the actual Jossverse in other media (namely, Fray ), but as far as I can tell, it's now a general comics thread.

Random Buffy references are usually announced in Natter (Vonnie scooped you, man), or the Buffy thread.

Incidentally, the DKR wouldn't happen to be Dark Knight Returns, would it?

Respect is Back. Fear is Next.

Yep. DKR means Dark Knight Returns. I'm a huge fan of the original, not so much of the sequel, which I found a bit messy and a bit overdone. But Miller's 1986 work is my favorite Batman tale. My second favorite is the Elseworlds Red Rain/Bloodstorm/Crimson Mist story.
