Wash: Psychic, though? That sounds like something out of science fiction. Zoe: We live in a space ship, dear. Wash: So?

My only question about Astounishing is this: were the first 2 pages a flashback? I'm assuming yes, because the color is all toned down and almost black-and-white, AND because the events on those pages don't segue into the action on the following pages.

However, I'm a little confused about the implications of what happened in that flashback (if it was a flashback) and when exactly it was supposed to have taken place.

I also want to know who Emma was talking to at the end, but my X-knowledge is so limited, and nobody here was commenting on it, so I assumed it just had to be obvious if you know your X-Men. Hmm.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I have little idea who Emma was talking to, but I'm pretty sure it's not Scott, or any of the X-Men. She's threatening Kitty for heaven's sake.

I was meh on the issue in general. I didn't follow anything about the one mutant will destroy the world thing. Joss never strays far from prophesies, does he? And Fury seemed incredibly clueless.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

This week:

  • Firestorm #7
  • Identity Crisis #6 (Of 7)
  • Nightwing #99
  • District X #7
  • X-Men The End Book One Dreamers And Demons #5 (Of 6)

+ whatever I was getting last week, because I haven't been yet.

Art Crawl!!!

I'm getting IC, Nightwing, LotDK and GC.

Although I think that the cover art of LotDK looks silly and why are they doing a Riddler story when they've just, kind of, done him in?

From McSweeney's: The Riddler Makes an Announcement.

"There are some 65 of you henchmen currently based here at the lair, most of you with advanced degrees in English."

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Heh.

But that would be both unfair and in direct violation of our company regulations against self-riddling.

So, i read IC #6 at lunch, and my main comment is OMGWTF ATOM?!?, even though Victor and I were speculating very near the truth about the two main revelations (I had fingered someone else) in his LJ a few weeks ago.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

DX: WTF? I quit reading the title ages ago, and I'm not regretting.
