This is so nice. Having everyone together for my birthday. Of course, you could smash in all my toes with a hammer and it will still be the bestest Buffy Birthday Bash in a big long while.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I can't decide if the following means that it *won't* be in stores tomorrow, or just that *some* stores won't have it (or will have limited amounts):

GREEN LANTERN: REBIRTH BACK TO PRESS

With the first issue of the mini-series Green Lantern: Rebirth sold out at DC Comics days before its in store date of Oct. 27, the publisher has rushed the issue back to press.

Written by Geoff Johns with art and cover by Ethan Van Sciver, Green Lantern: Rebirth #1 Second Printing is scheduled to arrive in stores on Nov. 17 with a new cover by Van Sciver. The second issue of the mini-series will be in stores on Nov. 24.

Sumi, before you swoon from shock, I don't know what that press release actually *means,* though. Maybe some stores are getting issues, but maybe just not as many as they normally do.

Art Crawl!!!

Weird.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

All that means is that their entire run was ordered by distributors--stores ordered more than they normally would, because they're expecting it to sell.

You're probably fine, although I'd recommend having the store put one aside for you.

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

That basically means that while intial orders were filled, the reorders took out the overprinting.

Show up early, you will get it...

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

It's been on my to-pull list for months now, so I'll be getting it.

After War Games, I'll probably drop some titles. But, of course, I'm also adding things I buy-but-don't-pull to the box, so I think it'll even out.

I know next to nothing about any of the Green Lanterns (Earth, Oa, or otherwise). Though I like Kyle in the TPBs of JLA that I've read. Anyway.

What I know is that Hal Jordan was the GL before Kyle or John. Also, isn't he the one that went crazy and kind of evil? And then he died, though I don't know how, and became Spectre, which I don't really even understand what Spectre is or what they (it? he?) do.

Having said that, Geoff Johns is writing it, and he has earned my undying loyalty from his work on TT. Therefore, I'm tempted to get GL: Rebirth.

Can anyone point me to a good source of GL backstory?

Hmm. You may be better off just asking here. The GL Wars get... UGLY.

I have a plan.

More on Hal

That pretty much sums it up, in a National Geographic/Cliff Notes kind of way. Hal Jordan was considered by many to be the standard by which a Green Lantern (and hero) was defined. So his fall was taken espeically hard by many in the DCU.

Also, Guy Gardner was a veeeery intersting GL as well.
