To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

I think the kid is a clone from the DNA of the Flash and his archnemesis, Capt. Boomerang. He and Superboy will form a support group.

Also, more seriously, Capt. Boomerang has always been a villain, but he was VERY prominent in Suicide Squad.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

So, why is this murder so sloppy? I doubt Captain Boomerang is the Big Bad. He just walked in and would have left his trademark behind, totally fingering him for the crime. I wonder who's pulling the strings.

I'd say Calculator looks like the culprit, but it's hard to say. There's a lot that doesn't add up quite right.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

In regards to IC, yeah, I'm thinking Captain Boomerang is not the culprit. I mean, he seemed pretty surprised when Tim's dad shot him.

Also, I don't have any familiarity with the character, but does he have a history engaging in "honorable duels" or wanting the other guy to have a "fighting chance"? If not, I'm thinking the real murderer is the guy who sent Tim's dad the gun.

Nah, CB's pretty much a scoundrel. He's never arm an opponent.

In that case, whoever the murderer is, they wanted to kill Captain Boomerang as well as those close to superheroes.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't both of the two suspects so far, Dr. Light and Slipknot, members of the Suicide Squad? If so, the killer seems to be trying to frame former members for the murders for some reason and now apparently stepped it up a notch, possibly because the heroes ended up not going medival on those he'd framed. So instead he creates a situation where both Captain Boomerang and Tim's dad are likely to be killed.

Re: IC it felt like CB was set up to think what he was doing was on the side of not bad, but I'll have to re-read. Ack! TIM! Excuse me. Ahem. I also want to re-read the last issue of Flash.

Meanwhile, Teen Titans: Holy dystopia, Batman! I enjoyed this much more than I did the last two parts of the storyline, which were sort of meh to me. Johns continues to write a good Tim, which makes me wish he was the writer on the Robin title instead of That Arrogant Assburger.

I'm so very not caught up on things right now. I hadn't been to the comic book store in nearly a month, so my box was rather full. Added Manhunter to my pulls, but forgot to add JSA. Again. I've been meaning to add JSA for weeks now.

In Teen Titans, when Tim asked "What would make me become Batman?" all I could think was "Buddy, you need to read Identity Crisis!"

Anyway, I love the Teen Titans Wishverse in this issue. So damned much.

I absolutely had to make time to read a couple of comics last night after seeing the cover of IC#5. Which I may have to, uh, frame. Due to Teen Titans and IC, my brain is happily percolating on TIMMAY and his angst, and what this means for him in the future. Where will he live? Is his step-mother Dana still in the picture? We've seen her in Robin, but I'm pretty sure she's been absent from IC completely -- which I hope is indicative of something important rather than just an oversight, considering that IC is all about family. Tim has lived with Bruce before, and he could become the latest in a line of dark-haired, blue-eyed, orphaned wards who suffer from persistent and suspicious injuries. They could be grim and efficient together. The mere idea of that much dysfunction in one cave pleases me greatly.

What else? Oh, yeah -- I can only hope that, since IC is supposed to be post-War Games (right?) that the Arrogant Assburger is off the Robin title by then. I want someone competent handling the aftermath of this.

Mmff. Anyway. Brain still spinny. Need more coffee. Will no doubt be re-reading lots of Bat-comics this weekend to pull together thoughts that are a little deeper than OMGILUVTIMMAY4EVAH!!!1!

Oh, thank god. I was afraid I was the only Obsesso Girl who had that thought.
