Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

FTR, ComicList has an RSS feed so you can friend it in LJ and have the list pop up automatically.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I did not know that. Thank you, ita.

So. On the War Games titles --

Legends of the Dark Knight: I have a question about the art. On page 7 (the page where Batgirl tells Nightwing "Race you there,) in the lower farthest-right panel, I really thought that was Catwoman, the way her head/face was drawn. But I looked carefully through all the fight scenes at the arena, and Catwoman isn't in any of them. My conclusion is that it was either a mistake, or shading that confused the hell out of me.

Nightwing: man, show, don't tell. I loved in previous issues, we could see Dick cracking up, without him ever actually addressing it. This one, though, was way too full of exposition-as-narration for me.

And, because I am very slow to get the message in a narrative sometimes (and I mean the whole of War Games, not either of these issues specifically), it struck me how much has gotten fucked-up because of a lack of communication. Dick hasn't told Bruce about Blockbuster, and he's going crazy because of it. Steph didn't tell anyone (until it was too late) that she was responsible for kicking off the gang war. Batman didn't tell Oracle that he was going to hijack her communications system.

Batman may be the *worst* at good communication skillz, but he's far from the only one who suffers in this area.

Or perhaps I'm stating the obvious.

I have only read my Secret War and Ultimate X-Men so far. I think I need to recatch up on Secret War before this makes much sense. As for UX, I'm appalled at Wolverine dissing my girl so. But we'll see how it continues next month.

There were a sample couple pages in a shiny flyer at the store about an upcoming Batgirl Robin crossover. I'm a little protective of wee killer Cass, so I read anxiously. I'm not convinced she should have so eloquent an internal monologue, although what she actually said during it fit with my expectations of her character.

Steph, I think you may appreciate Robin getting beat down, and being rescued by Batgirl. Tim looks pretty upset about it.
