Okay, going back to the scene from a couple of weeks ago where Leslie is checking Gotham adoption records, I have a thought. Probably a thought that everyone else has had, but I haven't heard anyone say it yet.
In yesterday's Batgirl, when Batgirl asks Leslie if she's seen Spoiler, based on the first panel of Leslie's reaction, I'm thinking that Spoiler is actually Leslie's biological daughter. Though, is there any actual canon evidence one way or another that Steph is or is not adopted?
Wow.
Teppy -- I hadn't considered that at all.
Really? It (the reaction panel where Leslie looks worried/shocked/scared) seemed straight out of a soap opera to me.
Steph, I doubt it, if only because Spoiler's dad is the Cluemaster--worst supervillain name ever!--and someone I sincerely doubt Leslie would ever become involved with.
Huh. I interpreted that reaction as an "Uh, no, of course I haven't seen Spoiler, I don't know what you're talking about, I DEFINITELY DON'T KNOW THAT SHE'S THE CAUSE OF EVERYTHING" look.
Huh. Well, regarding the adoption records, I just remembered that Spoiler gave up her baby for adoption.
Shrift -- that is what I was thinking re: Lesley's search of the adoption records. Do we know who the daddy is?
Sumi, I haven't read all of the Robin backissues yet, but we know that Tim Drake certainly isn't the father. Other than that, I'm not sure if the father was ever named. Some jerk she was dating before she met Tim, and very possibly someone involved in criminal activity, considering Spoiler's father.
As for how Spoiler's kid would be relevant to the current storyline, though, I got nothing.
You could tell ASM #5 was a Joss project considering how many times I laughed my ass off. As has been said, the shot over Ord's shoulder of Peter was awe-inspiring. I laughed the laugh that Joss has made me laugh so many times, to the tune of, "[he] is so gonna kick your ass." The ending was pure Joss too, equal parts "oh crap" and "huh?" Just caught up on Uncanny and X-Men as well; they really, really need to stop depending on Wolverine to carry every X-book. It's getting farcical. Back in the day he appeared in just X-Men and Uncanny continued to sell just fine. Why they think he's a requirement for sales is beyond me.
