I know there was some discussion of Reading the Vampire Slayer, because Jen had a pre-publication version of it that she circulated.
Which I have to mail back to Jon. Eep!
'Bushwhacked'
Discussion of Buffy and Angel comics, books, and more. Please don't get into spoilery details in the first week of release.

"I just picked up Reading the Vampire Slayer and Fighting the Forces. I know they're kind of old news."
I enjoyed them both (and there is a third similar volume in the works but the title escapes me). My favorite chapter in RtVS was Laugh, Spawn of Hell, Laugh, which dealt with the wide variety of humor used in Buffy.
I also read Topping's two books on Angel and Buffy, and Bite Me! by Nikki Stafford (which includes season six). Less meat in those more fannish volumes, but reviews of episodes which are fun to agree/disaree with.
I'm also reading a bio of Albert Speer, so I do read non-Buffy books now and then.
Has anyone heard if they are planning to release another Watcher's Guide?
Just wanted to drop in to mention that a new Tales of the Slayers: Broken Bottle of Djinn one-shot should be in the stores today. I think it features two stories, one about a Slayer in 1930s New York, and one about Buffy. The authors of the stories are Jane Espenson and Doug Petrie, so we should get relief from the craptacular Scott Lobdell for a while. I'm off to the store now to pick it up.
That's a regular comic, right Jeff?
Yes, it is a regular comic (although it is priced at $3.50). I found it to be too short, which is a good thing.
Doesn't it say part one of two or three on it?
Yes, it was part one - - very short. Do we know if Jane Espenson is writing all of them?
How'd you like them, Jeff? As good as the other Tales
I liked it, especially compared to the regular comic at this time. I don't think it was as good as the best from the first Tales, but it was fine. I'm pretty sure the issue was a one-shot. (goes to web) Yep, according to this from the Dark Horse site, it is just a one-shot. Therefore, it is too short.
[Edit: I want to add that this is basically one connected story with two parts, rather than two separate Tales.
