Sadly, despite these casting choices, nothing else I've heard about this cartoon makes me think it'll be very good -- it grew out of Warner's desire to keep the Batman merchandising franchise strong, and reportedly even people involved with it were saying at Wizard World that it isn't as good as the old series.
I will still check it out, since as Hec knows good art can happen in the most unlikely places, but I'm not actively counting down the days or anything.
I think they should do South Park- style animation with cut-out pictures of Christian Bale and Michael Caine.
From JLU last night, it turns out that Wonder Woman's
armor has a secret weakness. Could it be that IT DOESN'T PROTECT 80% OF HER BODY, not to mention SEVERAL VITAL ORGANS? Duh.
Well, one could argue that since Diana is (in her original origin myth, anyhow) a clay statue brought to life by the gods,
she doesn't have the same vital organs humans do. And hasn't the series hinted that Amazons are immortal, too?
Also, are Hawk and Dove real DCU characters? And why?
I thought the whole point of
the bullet-deflecting bracelets thing was that if she weren't able to do that, the bullets might actually HURT her
?
Also, are Hawk and Dove real DCU characters? And why?
Yes, and God only knows. They were created by Steve Ditko around the same time he created the Creeper (i.e. the late sixties). They were supposed to be some sort of reflection on the Vietnam era, but I always thought they were terribly lame.
I was wondering what the heck their powers were exactly. I get that Hawk/Hank is stronger than Dove/Don? but they both seem to be really strong and have Flash-like speed or something. So is ithe only difference between them just that Dove is a "bleeding liberal" (or whatever the line was yesterday) and Hawk is NSM? And are they human? How did they get their powers?
For a second I was waiting for them to touch rings and activate their wonder-twin powers.
Also funny from JLU was
that hammering dude pointing out the WW's armor wasn't meant to me so tight-fitting.
I expect
hammer dude was Hephaistos/Vulcan.
Yes he was.
I really enjoyed Robin this week. I start to see more of what Steph sees in Tim.
Gotham Knight's art bothered me -- loved the musculature, hated the faces. And I didn't like how
Batgirl was written -- too wordy. Her grumpiness with Babs was much better conveyed in her own title.
Apparently Astounishing #4 is so shocking that they cannot even reveal the cover.
