Discussion of Buffy and Angel comics, books, and more. Please don't get into spoilery details in the first week of release.
What Morrison JLA TPBs should I read, Victor? Especially as an Oracle fan. (You mentioned a JLA story in which Bats gets split into two? I keep thinking about that, and would love to read it.)
JLA 4: Strength in Numbers (The expansion of the team, including Oracle joining.)
JLA 5: Justice for All (Many strange tangents, including a bitchin Atom story. Various authors.)
JLA 6: World War II (Wherein shit hits fan. Much Morrisson epicness.)
JLA 7: Tower of Babel (Ra's Al Ghul takes down the League with Batman's traps. Pivotal for any Bat fan. Seriously. Mark Waid takes over writing chores.)
JLA 8: Divided We Fall (In the aftermath of Batman's "betrayal," the League is sharply divided. In some cases, literally. This was the one yopu were talking about.)
'K, show of hands time.
How many of you who are asking
about bandage guy have *NOT* read the whole Hush storyline? (Parts 1 & 2) Because I'm sensing the confusion that comes with not having read it to conclusion.
Secondary whitefont to ANSWER the question, which will spoil you for what I asked in *my* question above, in the original white font.
Bandage guy is Hush, who is Tommy Elliot.
Plei -- I haven't read any of Hush -- I mean, I
intend
to, but the tpb of vol. 1 isn't at the comic shop and I've got so much else to catch up on. . . .
Plei, I haven't read it at all, don't have a clue what it's about, and thus your whitefont doesn't help me figure out what's going on in War Games, though I guess I've just spoiled myself if I ever do read it. Oops.
I have the
the first part of Hush
but between reading other stuff and lj entries I already
figured out who Hush was. But I'm still totally sucked in by the Hush story.
Comicscontinuum has more pictures from "The Batman".
Look, it's Kabuki Joker!
Adam West is doing a voice (but not Batman).
Please tell me he didn't get someone to greenlight the "Uncle Batman" character he once proposed!
Huh. No Commissioner Gordon. That's a serious deviation from every other canon. Instead we get...
Chief Rojas (Edward James Olmos)
For Chief Rojas, The Batman is nothing less than a black eye to his police force. Believing there is no room for vigilante justice in Gotham, Rojas has made capturing the Dark Knight a top priority.
Mulikuliti police force.
Adam West voices the mayor.
Gina Gershon as Catwoman!
Clancy Brown as Mr. Freeze!
Tom Kenney (aka, Spongebob) as Oswald Cobblepot!
See, casting Gina Gershon as the voice of Catwoman is a big tease.
Where's the fun if we don't get to see her in the outfit?
Sadly, despite these casting choices, nothing else I've heard about this cartoon makes me think it'll be very good -- it grew out of Warner's desire to keep the Batman merchandising franchise strong, and reportedly even people involved with it were saying at Wizard World that it isn't as good as the old series.
I will still check it out, since as Hec knows good art can happen in the most unlikely places, but I'm not actively counting down the days or anything.
