Marco: Do we look reasonable to you? Mal: Well. Looks can be deceiving. Jayne: Not as deceiving as a low down dirty... deceiver.

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

Hrm, I always thought was the implication from that story arc...

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Has anyone got the Batman: TAS DVDs yet?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

I have them, and have watched a couple of eps. Not overloaded with special features, but the ones they have are good. S1 was not the best work they ever did, but it's nice to have.

Neil Gaiman said in his blog that he and Dave McKean will be on a panel at ComicCon. FYI.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

As Misha notes, Batman animated didn't hit its stride until it got going a bit. I just watched the late episode which was done partly in the style of Frank Miller's Dark Knight - whoa that was weird to see. But very cool. And it had a Carrie-like character too.

Ple got me interested so I perused the Outsiders at the comic store after we saw Spidey. Read issues 8-13 - really good stuff. Winick does such a good job on the relationship between Roy and Dick. Great dialogue and dynamic. Enjoyed all the new characters, particularly the gal who got her face burned off. That was freaky and disturbing. Then I came home and read Preacher - more freaky and disturbing.

Anyway, I was getting hooked on Outsiders.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

See, it's not my fault, because I got hooked via Victor.

Who is also to blame for my new-found Plas love, damn him. Will be adding that to the box when I go in for my pulls.

I just read Batman: Nine Lives, and it's everything I'd heard it would be and possibly more. I love Lark's pencils anyhow, but his work's really, really well suited to the noir atmosphere they were going for. Lots of little comics references scattered throughout, a solid script...

Sigh. Love.

It was an adventure trying to track it down. Had to do some store hopping for it.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Had some time to kill in Borders yesterday, and read Batgirl:Year One. I can see why you(the collective you) like it. Very interesting. (and now I know the context of Plei's tag.)
