To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

It's over? As in, the story has come to a well-defined conclusion so that I may endeavor to read it all via trades in bookstores without worrying about how "behind" I am?

A-yup. It's done.

Thrive to spite them

In one issue Nightwing is all pissy at Flash and Flash wants to know if it's the "other" Flash, who evidentally was an older version of him who came from a parallel world but that's all the background info I have.

What is the backstory on Argent and Damage. Also Garth is married and has a kid, but does he ever see them? Did he get married/have the kid "on screen" so to speak?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Sigh. Speaking of done...

My annual re-read of Sandman is almost done.

And once again, I feel the little stirring of sad that I'm nearly at the end.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Send your address to my profile addy, and I'll pop 'em in the mail tomorrow.

(eta: I probably already have it somewhere, but my filing system is, well, not, so it's sadly probably safer for you just to resend it)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Send your address to my profile addy, and I'll pop 'em in the mail tomorrow.

No you won't, I haven't read them yet.

Ali, you can have the first two after I've read them. I'll make sure I read them soon.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

Roy formed the Outsiders

See, I've been wondering the whole time y'all have been talking about the Outsiders: What (if any) relation does this group have to the Outsiders from the 80s, the group that had Terra's brother in it?

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

The other employee kept saying "The Preacher. Finally I looked at a tpb of that but...I'm not sure...The premise sounds interesting but I'm not sure about spending the money on tpb and then not liking it.

ita, I'm not sure if Preacher would be your thing, I think it might be, but there's definitely freaky/gross incidents in the story.

I don't want to volunteer his comics for him, but you might consider asking Thomash if you could borrow his run. He's got the whole thing in TPB.

I thought it was one of the best comics I've ever read. I loved it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm not sure who you're quoting here -- it's not me. I already own the first four or five Preacher TPBs. It rocks.

Am I supposed to have a problem with freaky or gross?

Well, it's oddly parallel in that it's kinda run by Nightwing. Metamorpho is almost in it. Or almost Metamorpho is in it. And sometimes they interact with the Titans a little.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

The old Outsiders had no Robin, IIRC, but they were led by Batman, vaguely, in that he'd occassionally show up and mentor them (I need menting! Ment me!) and then disappear into the night again.
