This girl at school? She told me that gelatin is made from ground-up cow's feet and that every time you eat Jell-O there's some cow out there limping around without any feet. But I told her that I'm sure the cow is dead before they cut its feet off, right?

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

That makes me think that it would be easy to tie Firefly to the Buffyverse, by having the show take place in Fray's future.

Oh, that is the best idea I've heard all day. Thank you.

Art Crawl!!!

I guess that depends on what happens in #8 -- if she can get rid of all the demons again.

A person's concepts should exceed their vocabulary, or what's a metaphor?

Maybe (completely unspoiled speculation as I havn't even read the comic) the demons eventually win and that's what causes everyone to flee Earth That Was. But in the history books, they call it Resource Depletion as to not scare the world's population.

It could happen.

Well, you can consider the human population a resource and I'm sure the demons would be actively trying to deplete it.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Interesting. But I think if the people on Firefly remember historical facts like ancient Egyptian slaves drinking beer, losing the entire planet to invasion by the Old Ones might be a tad difficult to skip over.

Maybe the government tried to actively discourage people from talking about it. And no one really believes in vampires and demons anyway, you know?

Punishingly Intricate

Can anybody help a lazy-ista? I've meant to read Fray from the beginning but never got around to getting a copy and now with the discussion of it in show threads I REALLY want to read the whole series. But I can't figure out where to get back issues. The Dark Horse site was no help at all.

I figured i'd wait until they were collected in book form but I don't think I'm that patient.

Any suggestions?

"Don't think of yourself as an organic pain collector racing towards oblivion." Dogbert to Dilbert

The two places I look online are Things From Another World or Mile High Comics. Unfortunately, Mile High is completely sold out (except for issue #6) and TFAW is missing issues #1-#3. If your comic store doesn't have them, you might try eBay.

I know that Dark Horse will release the collected series, but it may be a while (say, Christmas) before they put it out.

Another social casualty...

lisah, you can borrow mine, and next time I go to my shop I can see if they have the back issues at a reasonable price.

ooooh ooooh thanks Kim! I'll keep 'em safe I swear. And I can return your Firefly tape to you.

I am not wise in the ways of comics getting.
