Discussion of Buffy and Angel comics, books, and more. Please don't get into spoilery details in the first week of release.
I think I pulled out at least two duplicates of New Wings, which issue do you have?
I'll check my box of unsorted stuff. I think I have #2.
I'll go back tomorrow and see what they have left. I may go and dig around more in the back issues, I mostly looked through the boxes of sorted comics, but they had several boxes of unsorted ones that I didn't go through.
I have a question. What's the difference between JSA and JLA?
I have a question. What's the difference between JSA and JLA?
Overtly, The JSA was formed in WWII, and has recently re-formed with a few of the original members and the protoges/inheritors of others.
The JLA was formed more recently (post crisis version--at a point when the JSA was retired.) and is generally considered the world's greatest superhero team, whereas the JLA has focused in on training the "next generation" of heroes. Fundamentally, though, there's not a lot of difference--the two teams are closely tied, and have shared many members.
whereas the JLA has focused in on training the "next generation" of heroes.
He means the JSA there.
What excatly is the crisis refered to when things are post or pre - crisis?
Also after reading the TT issues I have-- Green Arrowette? Do writers just run out of ideas to name characters and that's why there's Green Arrowette and Kid Flash, etc? Also is Kid Flash related to Flash?
He means the JSA there.
Yeah.
Don't listen to me. I'm sick and feverish.
What excatly is the crisis refered to when things are post or pre - crisis?
Refers to the 12 issue maxiseries called Crisis on Infinite Earths, which was a mid-80s attempt to simplify and organize the DC universe into a single timeline. Many series were rebooted in the aftermath of Crisis to take advantage of the opporunity to get rid of over a half a century of contuity baggage. This is when the silver age Flash, Supergirl and bunch of other characters bought it.
However, the reboot failed to erase all of the problems, and they have done several since, up until the most recent called Hypertime, which argued the contuity didn't have to make sense.
Many of the characters and situations that were erased in the Crisis have since come back such as Supergirl and the many flavors of kryptonite.
Crisis was also the first large scale DC event, which laid the groundwork for later events.
