We'll see what Joss does with Emma, but since Kitty's in the book, I figure I'll be looking at her through Kitty's eyes.
This, and I am now since reading Wizard and knowing Chris Claremont wanted Joss going to be all "Aha, Chris Claremont's Emma is the one we're seeing here."
Plus? Currently reading X-Men from 1985, where Emma does things like surprise Kitty in the back of an airplane, which I tend not to think of as "nice."

I feel not much sympathy for anyone that wants to get into Cyke's pants. I give Jean a break because he was tempted by Wolverine, though.
I've been reading through all the classic X-Men comics on my computer. I'm up to 1981. (Dear God, Kitty's self-designed costume is hideous. Granted, it's meant to be, but yeesh. And Dazzler just hurts my brain, and not in a good way.) The early years were really, really painful. In fact, I skimmed through a lot of the issues and found a site that had summaries. Even now, there's a cheese-factor to a lot of the storylines I have to ignore, but overall I'm enjoying them. Liked the Pheonix and Dark Pheonix storylines. Was somewhat surprised to find out that Wolverine hasn't really been made that much darker over the years. He started off as a blood-thirsty, smoking, short-tempered, scoundrel.
But it's definitely interesting actually reading all the stuff I pretty much knew second-hand from the cartoons, friends, and the occasional comic. Of course, a lot of my time is spent waiting for the ret-cons to crop up as I run into things that contradict the X-verse as it is now.
I know I'm alone here (and pretty much everywhere) but Cyclops really doesn't bother me. He's not my favorite character, but I don't have any dislike for him either.
The whole Maddy Pryor thing grates for me, Kalshane. And the retcon failed to mitigate that.

After Jean's death, Cyclops
meets and marries and has a child with Madeline Pryor. Then Jean comes back, and Mr. Summers dumps her and the kid without a backward glance to get back into Jean's pants.
Cad.
Ah. Okay, yeah, I can see that as being a big problem.
