"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'm wondering if the writing is intentionally mirroring the motif of the Fall, going from glorious brilliance (the miniseries that preceded the regular book) to pointless misery (the current storyline).

Jon, sorry it took me so long to get back to you about the Spike action figure. None were available from my source, though if you're in the market for Little Nicky figurines I can set you up.

"Don't think of yourself as an organic pain collector racing towards oblivion." Dogbert to Dilbert

On that note, who reads Lucifer? I glanced through the first TPB and it looked well-written.

I don't know, I just picked up on the thing and am going back through the back issues. There seems to be a lot being set up for the coming storylines. But maybe that's just because I'm catching on. I was happy to fill in a missing spot in the run by picking up #24 at MegaCon for a buck.

In fact, I just read an enthusiastic review over at Sequential Tart in their review of Vertigo's 10th anniversary, Read This or Die. The reviewer said that this was the first time she was reading the new issues while she was catching up with the trades, before she even caught up.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Jon, sorry it took me so long to get back to you about the Spike action figure.

Thanks for looking! Much appreciated.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

Like its protagonist, the series just keeps getting worse and worse as time goes on.

I've been reading it since the begining. It manages, IMO, to balance abstractness and philosophy with actual storytelling so that it doesn't go off the incoherent end like other Sandman spinoffs have.

There's a decent stable of supporting characters, who often carry a good part of the story themselves since Lucifer can be a little short on the sympathetic/fallible side.

A graphic novel called "Nirvana" came out not too long ago - it's a standalone storyline and it'll give you a taste of the style.

If I wanted a Spike action figure, where's a good place to get one? I don't care if it's mint or if it's a limited variant. I just want a Spike.

Jon, I don't know if this any help but there are some Australian sites that seem to list a few that they have currently, also some new ones that are due in March, and some that are listed as Australian exclusive.

Maybe you could organise with one of us Aussies to get one to you?

some links I found are www.fastbreak.com.au

and figuremania search page type in Spike

and www.figuremania.com.au

Anyone still interested in Lucifer... a new storyline just started this month.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Yes?

(or did you mean the comic books, acknowledged spawn of the devil since McCarthy?)
