So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

See, I have no particular investment in the Green Arrow or Lantern mythoi of now, which might be part of the issue here.

Oh, yeah. I know that reading crossover storylines where I don't have any investment with half the cast leaves me less moved than perhaps I should be. And that if I develop an investment, and go back and re-read, I enjoy things a lot more than I did when I didn't. (See: anything with Wally West.)

I have major Arrow and Lantern investment, which, like most things, started as part of the whole BoP gateway drug. Well, Arrow did. Lantern just sort of happened. I think maybe there were a lot of seeds one night and I was bored or something.

I'm trying hard to avoid picking up any more titles or characters.

I'm failing, but I'm trying.

Picked up two Green Arrow trades today. Both Kevin Smith. Read the intro to Quiver. Laughed uproariously. Realized I was doomed.

Bother.

Thrive to spite them

Tampa Bay lost Game 5 and I'm going to need retail therapy so I don't go for chocolate therapy.

So I see myself checking out Green Arrow trades....because obviously I don't have enough comics to read.

Picked up the first Starman trade, on account of it being a limited comic day for me, and on account of people saying it's really good.

The doom keeps coming.

Managed, however, to avoid clearing out their Impulse backstock.

Cursing that I missed the seed on that. Wasn't invested yet.

Need more Bart now.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Picked up the first Starman trade, on account of it being a limited comic day for me, and on account of people saying it's really good.

My pusher kept recommending Starman to me.

As for Kevin Smith, I really enjoyed his Daredevil run, though the Quesada art didn't hurt.

I liked Quiver, but didn't love it like some people did. I think that's the part of me that read a lot of the Grell run first. That seems to hit the usual split. Also, WTF was up w/the Our Fathers w/Connor? Hell-o? Not. Catholic. I mean, I'm not an ashram expert, but...

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

My pusher kept recommending Starman to me.

Your pusher is right. "Starman" is among the finest super hero stories I've ever read.

I may have to seize the cat.

Picked up two Green Arrow trades today. Both Kevin Smith.

What's the one that's not Quiver?

I didn't go to the comic book sale on Wed. and thus didn't pick up two trades. This is good because it means I'll actually spend less money on Saturday when I head over there, since I'll not be able to justify buying two on a "but it's half off!" thing.

Probably gonna get Y - The Last Man TPB #2.

Debating about Essential Wolvie #1 - I could read it in the store, but it's so nice to HAVE those. But I think, with my upcoming month of free time (that ought to be spent cleaning, packing, and updating websites) I will probably be visiting the megabookstores quite a bit and treating them like libraries for comics.

What's the one that's not Quiver?

Er. Sounds of Violence, I believe.

As for Quiver, I liked it well enough. I think it did what it needed to do in terms of rebooting that much history, although I felt that the exposition got a little too exposition-y at times.

But I was laughing out loud while reading it, and I stayed up until almost 3am this morning just to see how it ended. And I really dig the art.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Got Ult. Spidey #59 and #60 as well as Ult. X-Men #44 and #46. They didn't have Ult. Spidey #58

Man, I am SO far behind in Ultimate Spidey! The last one I have is #53. If they're up to #60, then at this point I'ma just wait for the next TPB.
