Like I need a hole in my head

Hee! Just got an email from my comic book store. They're having a TPB sale over Memorial Day Weekend - buy 2 get 1 free.

So what Nightwing books are must haves?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Pop Matters reviews Miracleman.

Is his premise true that most folks haven't read Miraclman because it's been out of print?

[goes and pets his original Warrior comics with Marvelman]

There's also a review of the Angel finale at that site, btw.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Seems to be. But well worth tracking down. I've got about half the eclipse run and the fourth TPB. Also, Apocrypha.

Good stuff. Good enough to name yourself after, even.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Pop Matters reviews Miracleman.

Miracleman is Alan Moore? I didn't know that. It sounds really interesting. Huh. I want to check it out now.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Miracleman is Alan Moore?

Yep.

It sounds really interesting.

Yep.

It's great stuff. I prefer it to Watchmen, though it doesn't cohere as well and doesn't have the advantage of one artist throughout its run. However, I still think it is the very best examination of the Superman mythos ever done (though obviously it leans a bit more on Captain Marvel in structure), and does the Nietzsche/Superhero thing better than anybody ever could've imagined. Plus it's dark and savage and spine-tingly.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

Miracleman is AMAZING. But I never would have read it if I didn't have a friend push it on me -- even second-hand, it's really hard to find.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I haven't read Miracleman, but that's because the only person I know who would loan me their copies foolishly left those copies over in England. But how can it NOT be great?! It's Alan Moore. All bow down before the genius of Alan Moore.
