I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century, and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophesy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.

Has anyone read the new Angel hardcover by Nancy Holder and Jeff Marriotte? I think it's called Endangered Species.

From scifi.com:

Buffy Toon Due Soon?

Joss Whedon, creator of UPN's Buffy the Vampire Slayer, told syndicated columnist Marilyn Beck that his moribund Buffy animated series could hit the airwaves as early as January 2003. Earlier, Whedon had said the show—which revisits the Scooby Gang during their Sunnydale High School years—was on hold for a variety of reasons and wouldn't debut until at least May.

But Beck reported that Fox will premiere the show in January, with Buffy cast members Sarah Michelle Gellar, David Boreanaz, Seth Green, Nicholas Brendon and Michelle Trachtenberg voicing characters.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Huh. Last I heard, the toon project had been scrapped.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I wonder where it would air? Fox kids? Cartoon Network?

Maybe Joss is eager to get something else on the air to continue the franchise with it looking like he'd be down to Angel by next year (with luck).

Anyway, it's good news.

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

Well, even Angel has a shaky future, I think. It must be disheartening to start a season with three shows and now face a next season with none.

I'm fearful Joss would abandon TV and start that movie career he's so eager to start. 'Cuz, Buffy's on 22 times a year for 7 years. Movies - you might get one movie every other year from a director. That's not enough Joss for me.

Joss should stay in TV. I so want Firefly to stay or see him do something else. Not even that enthused about the 'toon. The BTVS/Angelverse is all worn out for me.

{edit: Angerverse?}

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

I suspect that while he has a movie itch, if for no other reason to wash his mouth of all his scripts that he has written that have been butchered, if you look at his writing style, you see that his strength seems the long form. Which means either miniseries or television.

So I can see him doing a few movies to get his pay up, and just to show that he can...

I bop to Wittgenstein. -- Nutty

Joss should stay in TV.

Joss, if I may be so bold, should get his ass over here and make my 'Ripper' series!

His Ripper series. ASH's Ripper series. Whatever. Just make the damn thing already!

I don't know if he is used to using the kind of budgets that British TV uses...
