You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Did Amych and I ever share our thought that the reason a lot of early BtVS viewers were put off by the show's later seasons, and never attached to Angel, is that the later seasons of BtVS and the whole run of AtS are far more DCverse in tone, and the alienated viewers (know it or not) were really firmly Marvelverse? (I think that's the same conversation where we decided Marvel = cooler concepts, DC = way cooler execution, at least in recent stuff.)

Which is probably why I've always liked Angel so much, since I've always been a DC-verse guy.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

No, but this makes a lot of sense.

Doesn't it just? It was one of those mother of all epiphanies moments.

One of the others was was the genre rules/power gaming/S7 one that Jilli and I had.

It is possible that my geekdom is pretty complete.

ETA

Ooooh, very interesting theory. Can you enable the patented Ple Mapping Device (with special Amych attachment) to support this contention?

Yeah, but I'd need my logs.

What geek empires are left for you to conquer? You started off in RHPC cast. You ran discussion boards. Written the fanfic in multiple fandoms. Gotten deeply into comics. Tech job. Unfortunately your historical interests tend towards the reputable rather than renactment. Also, very little Trek in there. No RenFaire nor SCA.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Wow, the DC/Marvel thing makes total sense to me.

And I've been out of any regular comics loop for quite a while.

I love these ideas, and want to marry them. I have a slight bias towards DC, but like both. I love X-Stuff, though execution eventually drove me away. DC stuff rawks like a rawkin' thing, especially when it comes to the BatFam.

And Sean, the goatee is gone, with no intention of returning.

HA! I knew it had something to do with the goatee. That's why you have to be the good one.

You started off in RHPC cast.

So much starts right here, doesn't it?

Edit: meaning for so many.... It figures prominently in my early adolescent fandom.

I had a party in my dorm for the DS9 premiere.

I did the line wait for TPM.

And I performed in CdA at a RenFaire, as Columbine. But then I got sucked into LARP and quit that. Besides, it was taking away from my Shadowrun time.

Verily, your geek is mighty.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Besides, it was taking away from my Shadowrun time.

And this? Should never happen.
